Name recognition. Not so much Justin I think but Lady Gaga is still a somewhat famous person at this point. She hasn't reached Las Vegas act status yet, especially after the buzz from her movie recently.
WE treat him like a B list star though. Part of it is Usher's own doing because his music is so damn inconsistent, but we've become snobby when it comes to Usher, like if it ain't Confessions-level good, we don't wanna hear from him.Usher has sold more records than TimberSnake Period. (Not Just Confessions either)
Yet he is treated like a B list star while JT is their "King of Pop"![]()
Justin and Gaga have had successful side hustles as actors. That keeps them relevant.Name recognition. Not so much Justin I think but Lady Gaga is still a somewhat famous person at this point. She hasn't reached Las Vegas act status yet, especially after the buzz from her movie recently.
They bring in the gays/ thread

Gaga had a resurgence with a star is born. The movie and soundtrack been doing numbers
Everybody flops
I'm not understanding this thread OP. Black artists are given second chances after flops.
In this era though flops are a lot harder to gauge since streaming numbers matter more than physical sales and singles can have staying power
Because they also have years worth of success.
Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake are legacy acts.
They aren't 24 year olds with one hot album, they are 30 plus and pretty much defined Pop culture for a decade (in Timberlake's case, 2 decades)
You really expect people to care about that one flop they had in a decade plus career.
Do we care about Jay Z 3 flops in a row until he made 4:44?
How many flops Snoop Dogg has had? Snoop Dogg hasn't made worthwhile music in a decade are so?
Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga and Jay Z and Snoop are pop culture institutions, they aren't going nowhere no matter how much they suck.
But i'm saying how did she even get that opportunity....they wasted millions of dollars on that project that didn't even go platinum
I can't name another artist that got that type of a second chance regardless of race![]()
:crackass:
And that role was always going to go to a singer. Beyonce was originally attached to the project when Clint Eastwood was handling it, when she left he was looking at Esparanza Spalding.Cuz Bradley Cooper was the director and wanted her to star in it. Sounds simple enough.
