Why are landlords given free rein to cripple the economy by pricing workers out of important major cities ?

That's true. But they can't be to picky either when there is somewhere affordable to live in their city but not in their ideal location
a big misconception is that a lot of us won’t budge from our ideal neighborhood. Dog like how far of a commute do you expect people to have. I’m just shy of an hour. Do I move another 30 min out to just save another maybe 250 on rent. The big players to even small time landlord are kicking up prices to ridiculous levels. Even the shyt spots you suppose to stack up in and save money are rising.

It’s absurd.

I commute about 90 miles a day.

50 shouldn't be a big deal for these folks. Time to live on the outskirts and commute In

No idiot.
Well since you feel like that, a better question is what are you going to do about it. You think a landlord wants to stop maxing out the money making potential of one of his properties so your stupid ass can live in the city.

Delusional as hell. Go vote clown. Better yet go pick up another truck route so you can afford to live where you want

I’m trying to tell you the outskirts ain’t much cheaper. At what point does the fuel and depreciation of my veichle outweighs the couple hundred I save on rent. If I fill up my tank twice a week that’s 100 dollars. 4 weeks in a month that’s 400 dollars. I move way out the sticks maybe my rent drops 350-450 dollars. Add in more frequent oil changes that are 100 a pop since my veichle is under warranty, how much money am I saving for moving out to the sticks. And I’m already in the sticks to let you know.

The part of rent control that makes sense is laws to protect insane rent hikes and dirty evictions.

What doesn't make sense is forcing a private businessman to turn their property into affordable housing for new tenants.. If I want to charge 5 grand a month for rent to a new tenant and they can't afford it, try somewhere else. If I can't find anyone willing to pay then I guess prices are getting reduced.

So we can agree you land lords are price gauging and engaging in predatory practices with just this comment then. Just stop playing dumb and own up to it and stop blaming just the big firms. You guys are charging premium prices for something that is not a luxury, housing is a necessity. Y’all just as grimy. Just own up to it

I didn't mention anything about big firms and my views were clear.

If you don't talk to me like a man I'm going to have to ignore your posts

Don't grandstand on me for daps. Don't ever in your life grandstand on me nihk.

If you want cheaper prices go live in government housing. Apply for section 8. There are programs available for you. Subsidized government Housing

The heights
It’s worse out here In the Chicago land area My cousin and her BD is looking for a 3 bedroom house and the prices are fukking ridiculous in certain neighborhoods like no way landlords should be asking for 2000 and up for a 3 bedroom in neighborhoods like calumet city, Markham, dolton, most of Chicago heights,Sauk village and south Chicago heights I know most people don’t know these areas, but these are the hood suburbs of the Chicago south Chicago heights isn’t hood but most of the houses are old and these houses doesn’t have anything updated and landlords wonder why the property sit for months and months

You’re literally in a thread about land lords crippling the economy on some “don’t come at me nikka” energy. Have you read any of the posts or did you come in here to post your opinion without looking at any of the discourse.
