A lot of these responses are logical fallacies. They're attempting to appeal to some perceived shared ethics instead of actually answering OP. They also attempt to appeal to some sentimentality that OP may not have. @Prynce you the young homie, but you should ask this question to people who might think a little more critically.
If I were to answer on the side of pro-provider , I would probably tell you the only thing you owe to the human race is to perpetuate it by procreating. The best way to do that is protect the being that carries your offspring, a woman so that your child is nurtured and taken care of. I'm of a more nihilistic bent so Imma tell you this. None of these people care about your happiness not even me. None of us can tell you what makes you happy, we can only defend our view points. You must live for you. Believe in yourself.

I don't mind helping out my woman and of course im gonna protect my kids
But the issue becomes when a woman expects me to do those things based on me being a man. Like I owe her something cause she chooses to pay me attention.
