They act like it wasn’t one more stop before they hit America and some how weren’t intermingled with Haitians, they some how think it’s a badge of honor to act like they aren’t, it’s some that take offense it’s some that embrace it, everything isn’t an absolute

My brother is a white dominican, so much that some people joke with him and says he looks Russian and im a few shades darker (our entire family has every shade you can think of). Our grandfather/uncles from my mom side are all al horford pops complexion, grandmother side is all mulattos.

My brothers ancestry test came back as 35% Portugal 33% african (northern africa, cameroon, congo, mali, west + east bantu, senegal, egypt,& nigeria), then like 1-2% for wales, france, spain, indigenous bolivia, peru,Haiti and DR)

Is he not supposed to claim the 33% african part in his DNA? Because according to the coli, white dominicans dont have any african DNA and you guys would probably tell him he can't claim black if you saw him

And thats complexity of dominicans that goes over this websites head, it's not just black and white it's more than that

Well this is a lie.

A Dominican family that was showed on the black America documentary on CNN moved to North Carolina and the North Carolina locals viewed them as black.

Clearly you making sh*t up. Also all the coli/LSA/shaderoom posters who speak about Dominicans being black can’t all be from NY lol

Stop being triggered. I remember that segment and it was the family of Bonito, the co-host of the Stretch and Bonito show. The kids said in North Carolina you either black or Mexican and they didn't identify as either. Dominican are mentioned by New Yorker given that you guys live side by side with them. The average black person outside the east coast can cares less.

No he cannot claim black with his measly 33% African ancestry. Folks like your brother only claim their blackness when it’s convenient for them to. They don’t show any conrodity with true black people to combat any negative stereotypes and stigmas black people face everyday. No, they only bring up their African ancestry when it’s time to say nikka. I have no qualms about Dominicans claiming their nationality first and foremost, that’s their identity and culture and it works for them. No need to try to be down if it’s not really in your hearts.

he will tell you first and foremost yes dominican, but he also never denies that he has black dna in him and black family members. Also you will never catch him claiming he's white

You want him to dismiss the African side but he has only 2% more on the Portugal side.

Actually I just remembered this

Did you watch the documentary of this man who killed and dragged in Texas?

In the documentary the Texas cac at the end was literally claiming a Puerto Rican he hired as Afro (black)

So I know for a fact it’s not a simply a New York thing

would you agree that for a person to hold certain opinions on folks
it is best that they have spent CONSIDERABLE time with those people?

schools, neighbors, family, friends, going to their houses, meeting their parents etc etc

I don't think Black people should try to claim anyone that says they're not Black, I don't care if they look more Black than Wesley Snipes, or are mixed with Black blood.

If they don't want to claim Black, or at least acknowledge that they have Black blood then f**k them. We don't need them.

It's a self hate thing too because being Black is looked at as a bad thing, so SOME people who are mixed with Black try to distance themselves from it as much as possible
:francis:
Agreed. Folks want to be everything but black. It’s always “I’m black but mixed with” .. pathetic. It’s ok to JUST be black.

Are you speaking for @Uptown WaYo87 in relation to his brother, or are you talking about me and my experience with Dominicans/Hispanics?

THE DUDE WHO POSTED THIS IS HAITIAN....

RESEARCH THE RELATIONSHIP
BETWEEN HAITI/DR.

I don't understand you attacking the dude who posted it. Is it true or not? WHat does that have to do with Dominicans having extreme self-hatred due to brainwashing?

Only a small group are actually negroes and even those ones are mind wiped. The majority are actually not negros, from their own mouth, which is why they say they don’t mess with Haiti. They claim to be mixed of taino, european, negro, native all mixed in one, and they have straight down flowing hair, so they aren’t black/negro. Dominicans are actually more caucasoid.

Have you been to DR? They are mostly Black and light skinned with black hair that they gel to the max or starighten out with perm
