Drake can spit. He's not a Pharoahe Monch or Elzhi, but he's always had lyrics. Don't get people who say otherwise. Dude can have a blackout song like 5AM In Toronto, he cah make a radio record, he can make introspective/reflective records. He can do it all really

The other night, Lavish Lee told me that I'm all these people listen to
She said they love me unconditional
Imagine how it feel to watch another nikka at the top
You know that if you wasn't you, you would be dissin' you, dawg
Damn, okay, from that perspective
I see what you're talkin' 'bout, no way to soften that
Cause me, I was tryna find out where I lost 'em at
But maybe I ain't lose 'em at all
Maybe I keep movin' forward and they're just stagnant, they ain't movin' at all
But when they need a favor, who do they call?
Maybe I'm searchin' for the problems, askin' what was said and who was involved
Too focused on people's feedback and provin' 'em wrong
They say the shoe can always fit, no matter whose foot it's on
These days feel like I'm squeezin' in 'em
Whoever wore 'em before just wasn't thinkin' big enough
I'm 'bout to leave 'em with 'em
Cause if I run in the game in these, man the seams are splittin'
No pun intended but they're smellin' defeat in the air
Headed where nobody took it, who meetin' me there?
They tell him that he's talkin' crazy but he doesn't care
Bein' humble don't work as well as bein' aware
Listen up, boy, you're better off eavesdroppin'
We already got spring 2015 poppin'
PND droppin', Reps-up P droppin'
Majid Jordan droppin', OB droppin', not to mention me droppin'
Feel like we paid the refs off, man we fixed the game
Me and Noel been at it before Twitter names
Yeah, been on the move like the lease is up
And I can't even name one person that's keepin' up
Damn, fukk how it was in the past tense
Ask yourself, how do we match up now?
Cause I'm only 27 and I'm only gettin' better
If I haven't passed you yet, watch me catch up now, forreal

this is comparable to the better verses on kendricks album, yall needa accept it :umad:

Drake is doing his thing, I dont recall a "fight song" or anything like that when he was trying to be hard. And yall dudes claiming he's not about that life and needing to stay in his lane better not be a fan or stan of Rick Ross

He's a decent rapper. His appeal and plethora of fans make him out to be better than he is. He's the most popular rapper, but well behind guys like Kendrick, Big Sean, Wale, Cole, Meek etc. in terms of just pure skill. He has the appeal because he's biracial, doesn't directly identify as black and can connect.with both sides. Although the pseudo southern accent is :scusthov: he can spit. Just not as good as the other guys but he'll always sell more because of the appeal.

Nope. No bars. At all. Nothing metaphors. shyt reads like a journal. He's one of the few rappers I've seen ever, who doesn't have bars but his appeal covers it. Drakes music sounds good. It's easy listening but never do I listen to him and say

:ohhh: "Damn how you say something like that"

It's never amazing. It's all simple. He has some gems here and there but nothing as complex as Kendrick

When does he try to be hard? I've very rarely gotten that from him. He mostly just says that he'll handle something if an issue comes up. It's not like Drake makes gangsta rap. But any time he says something that's not soft, people say he's trying to be hard. Doesn't make any sense
Didn't he just talk about dropping a nikka off a cliff in Believe Me?

Key word in my response is "rarely." I can probably count the amount of lines he has like that (that I've heard anyway) on one hand. For the most part, he stays in the lane that he's done so well. He seems more authentic than most rappers out now, to be honest

He's not authentic. Dudes a poser.

He has no business talking about dropping nikkas off cliffs or catching bodies. Macklemore says that, and u cats would lose your minds.

I was listening to PND the other day. And this nikka said

That's when words spread, a Bugatti is in the projects
The boy home, used to take the bus to the block
Now summertime whips come through and bust up the block
I remember seeing Nikk's having to bust up a block

Like my nikka. You're from the burbs :skip: you ain't from the P's. that aint your home b. nikka was raised in a Jewish suburb

Drake is a Half black Jewish Canadian that was raised in a Jewish suburb that raps in a Psuedo Southern American accent.

:comeon: He has outshined all these guys on most of there own songs.

Drake does features for those guys, they don't really do features for him,

:patrice: What does that tell you?
