When Pippen dunked on Ewing, pushed him down to the floor and dropped his nutsack on his flattop while hovering over him, that was the day people stopped respecting Ewing. :manny:

You can probably find just as many people who thought Pat was a great leader and teammate and all that other stuff, that wouldn’t be nearly as interesting though so no one seeks it out.
Pretty much. Controversy sells. Even with op he wouldn’t even have made a thread of it was negative. You could have 100 ppl say Ewing was a consummate professional and an amazing leader. Op would only make a thread for the 2 ppl who say the opposite

Derek Harper saying Ewing wasn't a leader. Then juelzes and backtrack that he just "led by example"

They also talk about Chris Childs taking shots at Ewing

Charles Oakley saying Ewing is "high maintenance" and "had 5 chances to stick up for me and never did". And how he "sacrificed his game for Ewing"

shyt crazy :dahell:

Charles Oakley is popular for being a tough guy and all but he’s spent his whole post career throwing other people under the bus and blaming other people for shyt and not taking accountability.

These guys wanted Pat to be more than he could have possibly been. People wanted him to be Hakeem but he was just simply a step below; still damn near won a title against him. If anything, Ewing should be mad at them (and management) because NONE of these guys were good enough to be a secondary player on a title team. Ewing got as little help as any superstar did ever during his prime years.

Yeah he ran into the Dream and lived that nightmare.

Dream was undisputedly the best big of his time. Took out Shaq and Ewing in the finals.
Took out the baby version of Shaq. Would have been a different story if he ran into 2000 Shaquille. :yeshrug:

Thinking about that game 7 is still frustrating. Riley had to take the ball out of Starks' hands, he's not the type of guy who was gonna shoot himself out of a bad shooting night like that. You can't lose a championship with Starks taking the most shots on your team.

You can apply this logic to a bunch of different scenarios. Whatever floats your boats. I deal with what happened
I’m only referring to the part of Hakeem being the best of his generation, then referencing Shaq. Shaq came in damn near ten years after so their primes didn’t sync. Should have just left it at Hakeem was better than David and Ewing, unless I should say McHale is a better big man than Hakeem because Boston cooked them in the Finals early in Hakeem’s career. :usure:

:mjlol: The funny part is Ewing didn't win because he had unskilled "tough guys" around him for most of his career. Only dude who should be talking shyt about the Knicks lack of success is Pat specifically in regards to the mediocrity they surrounded him with

I'm sorry but I can't let this ride...

Ewing got plenty of "help" - but Checketts, Grunfeld, an'em tried to run the Knicks like The Yankees and that chit don't work for Basketball.
Players was having great seasons on meh teams and the Knicks tried to flip them into winners in a big market.

There is merit to the idea that players had to adjust their game because Pat was the focal point of the offense...but all those dudes who were
putting up great numbers before they got there weren't doing it on major factor teams or anything...

Herein lies the difference between Ewing and The Admiral.
The Spurs had to build a team around Admiral since they were a small market...but it's the same reason Admiral doesn't get shat on like Pat
even though they basically had the same situation. At least Admiral got blessed with Tim at the end.

I’m Tired of this excuse. The Knicks had a more talented roster and a better coach than the Rockets.

Ewing stunk the bed.

Nah, those teams were good enough. Knicks just kept running into that Superman from Chicago.

*EDIT* And he didn’t shyt on Ewing. He said he was an leader by example. Folks have been using that in sports for forever.
