But does that translate into killing each?

Yes…. Due to The lack of respect and lack of empathy.

Like our parents (80s baby’s atleast) beat our asses. Everyone further back was damn near abused.

This is the era of “can’t touch or I’ll call social services” kids that are now teens that think they tougher than the are, don’t comprehend consequences and think they can’t be touched/untouchable.

Kids trynna punk adults is wild to me today as this never happened before. To prove they so bad, they go to the most extreme lengths for clout… if that all makes sense

Teenagers have always been wild but I think modern life delays maturity. For centuries human had to grow up fast, the responsibilities of what we would call adulthood today would begin not too long after the onset of puberty. Being forced to grow up and take on responsibility at a very young age probably neutralized some of the natural impulsiveness that comes with the teenage years. Young people are idle and purposeless for way too long these days. I also think we are over stimulated and struggling to deal with the abundance of options in every area of life.

It seems like the crime across the country among teenagers is skyrocketing and I have no idea why. When I was a teen all I wanted to do is get my license and hang out with my friends. What happened? What's going on with the young people?

Honestly because they are díckriding faggòts who love the attention.

What else could be the explanation for a culture of crashing out

Nothing it's been the same, social media and the speed at which every little wild story can be spread now makes it seem worse, if these things had been around from the early 80s to mid 90s in any hood city, USA we would think shyt was mad max status
Funny thing is, it was Mad Max status back in the day. :lolbron:

Everybody had lead poisoning from the car fumes, total bullshyt went unchecked because there was no internet, there were no cameras, you could get away with just about anything unless you were unlucky and the cops were right there.

You zoomers will NEVER know. That world is GONE. :aicmon:

SAN ANTONIO SPURS NY DIVISION
Lack of gang structure(these lil nikkas getting gunz wit ease)
Drug abuse
Sexual abuse
Bad/no parenting
Social media(big part)
Lack of developmental resources

The YMCA/PAL could have saved the "on the fence" gangsta who didn't have the heart to tell someone SMD to their face..

Teen starts feeling himself on social media and tells the opps SMD and got no choice but to stand on it

Threads like these always like to default to the old "it's always been like that talking points" but I'm here to tell you, gen-x and my generation (millenials) are some of the woat parents, if you fall into them groups, you got kids and it don't apply to you don't take offense. But gen-x was the beginning of parents living their 2nd childhood and wanting to be perpetually fly. This came at the expense of their parenting.

Money Crimes - aka dealing, scamming, stealing - keep up with the Jamal's and attract the females - same as it ever was

On the buy side - They want high end designer stuff. Like a Hermes Belt is like 5 bills. Not jeans, not a jacket, just the belt.

On the earn side - You got grown folks working at McDonald's.

The ones that steal won't work straight jobs. They want big money, fast and easy.

Violence Crimes - Boys been shooting each other since there were guns. Before guns it was knives. They shanking each other in London. That's testosterone, music, lack of a Good father, no economic opportunity. But that ain't really a Black issue, that's popping everywhere and in every culture. Societies have always had a problem with "young men".

The uptick? Stat wise, I don't know if it's an actual uptick compared to the 70s/80's/90s, or we hear about it more via social media. It might just be perception, as the world always been an evil place. I think it's much worse, but I watch a lot more news these days. And the news gets to me as well.

But in terms of motivation - online makes things a lot worse.
  • Beefs develop online, that would not have developed in real life.
  • Real Life beefs get amplifed online.
  • There's a whole culture of "chiraq" and "ny state of mind" along with the music.
I could not imagine this type of thing coming up

https://www.reddit.com/r/NYStateOfMind/

Vice brought Chiraq to the general public in 2014. Not that Chicago ever been soft, but all the street stuff used to stay on the street.

Street rappers used to say stuff to other street rappers, and folks in the life, that if you was square, you wouldn't know about. There was always a hidden gossip level in hip hop and the street life, and those two didn't always cross paths.

Now we got Trap Geek and all these YT, Tiktok, and Chicago/NYC influencers that make the stuff, and if you listen to rap, the algorithm is gonna suggest all of this side drama and documentaries. The culture underneath Hip Hop is another thing to be dissected, analyzed, and monetized.

Places that are not the biggest of cities, are also getting on the map as well.

It probably is worse these days, and it's being made worse by the macro-factors of economics and racism, and the micro factors of poor parenting and cultural amplifiers.
