However, you are speaking on a sector of business\technology that blacks are now starting to get their feet wet in over the last decade....We are extremely behind in this arena and you will have to give it time before we can establish a footprint in it.
We have always been concerned about getting money, not exploring innovation because quite frankly, we have never been a position comfortable enough where we could sit back and not worry about not having money coming in.......
My stance is that if we can't control the resources and establishments in our own area, how do we expect to have a foundation to move on to controlling something much greater?
I agree. It may not happen this generation but I have high hope for the next. I recently gave a speech at my sons school(career day). The school was mostly black and hispanic. I went in thinking the kids were going to fall asleep if I talked about just programming. So i mixed it in with Games and Math. mannn the looks on their faces and the questions they asked( I was surprised by their questions lol) And now since computers are almost common place in households I know for sure that one day the microsofts/googles etc will be founded by a black person growing up today.
The Asians that own these hair stores families and employees still collect foodstamps. It comes down to the money available per person. 10k per person is pretty much the same no matter if you have 1 or 10 people.

Education soles poverty. Do you see the conditions of the schools in these neighborhoods, I've been in jails more welcoming.
The kids they are willing to learn cannot thrive in an environment that is demoralizing, where they have no materials or tools to learn with, let alone teachers who give a damn.
If the wealthty blacks built schools, they would become wealthier, and our community would also become wealthier

This is what's up. I believe we got next over the next 40-50 years. I think our artistic visions that show up in entertainment and athletics can cross over into the tech arena and offer the world something it's never seen before.......

The real problem is the belief within the black community that the cards are so stacked against us, that there is no point in even trying to climb the ladder.
Each generation is fed this idea, and it has rotted our community to the core.

The governments support/enabling of this idea has played a huge role as well. The Democratic party, being the biggest offenders.

To the people that make big money we are not the main consumers. We are only the main consumers of the small local shops. We can take over those shops, but it wouldn't bring big money to our communities because the big money will still have to be shipped to Asia/India.

And that figure has never been backed up by real data, it's just been repeated so many times that people believe it.

theres certain segments of the black population that need to step up and take responsibility:
1) religious institutions
yeah yeah theres alot of corruption etc within these organizations but man, considering how many churches there are, do they not offer breakfast programs, extra curricular activities, cultural/heritage events and lessons? they need to be that extra parent that some of these households lack ("it takes a village to raise a child")
2) successfull rich black folks
could you imagine if some of these rappers, atheletes, entertainers, entreprenuers actually put their wealth together and created venture capital firms or credit unions that specifically focused on the black community?
imagine the benefit of providing loans for schools, busnesses, homes etc
