Agreed, but hip-hop/pop are where the money is, and after being such major players in the industry for so long, we(the black community) should be set on some ownership.

Education soles poverty. Do you see the conditions of the schools in these neighborhoods, I've been in jails more welcoming.

The kids they are willing to learn cannot thrive in an environment that is demoralizing, where they have no materials or tools to learn with, let alone teachers who give a damn.

If the wealthty blacks built schools, they would become wealthier, and our community would also become wealthier

why does the blackman have to profit off of black people? why can't he profit off of white people. we up here assuming black ownership means hiring all black people or something along those lines.

if my black ass is opening up a Chinese resturant best believe it gonna stay true to staus quo. people want to see Asians working at the Chinese spot cause it seems authentic. I be out of business hiring a bunch of people not Asian.

No, he shouldn't only profit off black people, but people do better with core support. Of course I believe everyone should make their business profitable.. and we should only hire blacks if it makes sense. When all things r equal, I say hire black. This my seem crazy, but I've always let black people know about positions n shyt at least a few days before I let anyone else know... even if that non-black person is a friend of mine.

My point though... was that when we make this money he should def cycle around our communities they way others do w money, it's the only thing that makes sense. Other people have the opinion that we should fully assimilate.. but you can fully become a part of something that doesn't treat you 100% equal.

hip-hop ain't the end all be all....check out a top 40 station.

with enough acts generating money I think can make some moves in that direction. you pretty much need to get enough money to distribute music like Universal does for him.

Once you can distribute music acts will come to you as well. Birdman still needs universal to press his CD's and send his music to target, walmart, etc.

I only say nikka in real life to 'my nikkas' - we speak Completely different when only around each other.. and most of them are already successful... and all of them contribute more back to the community than I do. probably more than you do... you don't even like most of the black community.

the nikkas I'm talking about helping... won't have a change in mentality by telling people to stop using urban language. Regardless, my focus is children- and on a list of 475 things that can make the situation more positive for the youth..... not saying nikka is last on the priority list.

You already know I find you disgusting for your attract on certain segments of our communities. I live around white people right now. Some are trash- White people, mexicans, jews, asians, etc... can also can see the degrading parts of their communities... but blacks do the best job of dividing ourselves and isolating the parts of the community that need the most guidance.

BTH - I've been around many types of people, the people who hop on frivolous issues and points (like you) are the least effective at changing and encouraging the youth.

Most of the mentality comes from living in a depressed area with stereotypes pressed into ur brain since age two. we can change these things.. and encourage education w/o throwing rap in the bushes.. U act Like most graduate students aren't listen to rap as we type.

The real problem is the belief within the black community that the cards are so stacked against us, that there is no point in even trying to climb the ladder.

Each generation is fed this idea, and it has rotted our community to the core.
