Because conservatism is a ideology, white people don't own the conservatism brand. So you're going to tell me that Japanese conservatism and Nigerian conservatism are associated with white people too, every ethnics can advocated for conservatism without including white people, you're confused.

A lot of blacks are ideologically more conservative. It's just that the Republican party is full of outward racists and the Democrats are willing to throw blacks a few crumbs here and there, so blacks run under the Democrat banner.

Evidence for deterioration of the black family was noted back in 1965 with the Moynihan Report. And other evidence collected on the life outcomes of people who come from female lead house-holds -- regardless of race -- show an increase in criminal behavior. Thus, I would conclude that any later response by law/gov't to the rise in black crime was caused by what ever initial started to dismantle the black family unit in the 60s.


And why should they, black men are not inherently incompetent or lazy? Prior to the 60s, blacks being raised in two parent households was on similar levels to whites, which indicates that black men could handle the responsibility of taking care of their family just fine.

Also, what hard evidence do you have that IF welfare was covered even with both parents present that this wouldn't lead to harmful effects for the black community as a whole? I mean, your statement alone is implying that receiving money from the gov't was enough to incentives black women to be single mothers, so god knows what harmful, gov't dependent behavior it would produce if it covered both parents.

Those were liberals. Do you not realize that the liberals and Black used to be in the Republican party. It is the Party of Lincoln. The liberal Republicans were the abolitionists that history speaks of. The Democrats were voted against the legislation. They were the Dixiecrats that later moved into the Republican party as Reagan Democrats.

Secondly, you are another person that needs to study more of American history. Dr. King was involved in the poor people campaign at the time of his assasination. A lot of poor Black people and poor White people in Appalachia in other parts of the Country were living far below the poverty line. So there was a movement to extend welfare benefits to those people to assist them into integrating into the society. It was the Conservatives that placed the restrictive standards on the receipt of the benefits. They knew that would harm the poor Black and White families and it did. Now those are your Conservative family values Republicans that you are bragging about in this thread.

You can have conservative ideals and be a Democrat you can have progressive ideals and be a republican, it's not an either or although 1 party or the other may appeal to more of what you are interested in or what's more important to you at the time.
Most people fall somewhere not on either extreme end.

The conservatism we know is what we see in the media, which is correlated to extreme right wing republicans that pander to white racists.

I'd still lean towards liberal on a personal level, but if we have more people on a visible level that are conservative in this fashion, we would have more black conservatives.
