I know this a half troll thread, but there was an episode of Modern Marvels (back when History Channel wasn't dumb ass reality shows) where they showed a couple of McDonald's locations that had orders being taken from some dude in a call center. That was maybe 15 or more years ago, so it can be done.

The person taking orders is rarely ever only taking orders that day. At McDonald's they also the ones getting the fries, making drinks, etc.....
So you would need to pay someone at home to take orders and then still pay people to do the shyt they used to do.
