As people said, he’s not leader and he gets hurt a lot.

Also, Kyrie does not get to the free throw line like #1s usually do. Steph doesn’t either, but his shooting ability makes up for it.

his stint with the Celtics was supposed to be his version of Brunson on the Knicks …I’ll have to revisit why it failed, but that’s the answer to the OP’s question
Kyrie's grandfather died when he was a Celtic. That wanted to make him be closer to family. I think if he re-signed with Boston they win a title.

He only had like 1 year as a true #1 option which was in Boston. His health has always held up back.

Also Brunson is very good and on top of that does not shy away from wanting to be a #1. His usage rating and shot attempts are some of the highest in the league.

Jalen Brunson is a basketball scientist

His footwork is ridiculous

Look at the angles he takes on shots

He can get his shot off on almost anybody

Jalen Brunson is one of a kind my dude

That's literally what Kyrie is hailed as.

Kyrie can off any shot on any angle too.

You think Brunson is more skilled?

Yeah Kyrie is mad nice too we all know that but like I said they are two different people..

Its hard to quantify the shyt you can't see.

Thats why Brunson went in the 2nd round and Kyrie went #1 overall.

I just think Brunson is not blessed with the physical skills maybe that Kyrie was blessed with but he just has that heart.

Brunson put the work in on his game. The shot angles. Getting to his spots. His footwork. He's just a bucket

You can't quantify that heart that Brunson has

You might have a point. That season completely altered the course of his career

You gotta think they beat that Cavs team with a healthy Kyrie which would have put them in the finals.

And the perception of Kyrie is completely different....maybe he is seen like a Brunson level guy

At the same time Kyrie hasn't been a consistent playoff performer since Cleveland. He's been too up and down to definitively say he would have beaten a peak game 7 Bron.
