I'm about to go to sleep but come on breh, at least articulate your points :heh: maybe negro leagues weren't caking, big deal, the point is we had our own and white owners helped to eliminate that and divert our interests to completely different sports altogether in which they had knowledge and control. And as owners, they have the power to draft players as they choose, whether that's based on prejudices or blatant intentions. For example, why are their so many Samoans,in particular in the NFL? The island's population is +250k TOTAL and yet, they're 40 times more likely to enter the NFL than a kid here in America-- we're a population over 300 MILLION :dead:

You're talking as if the way things are now are how they've always been. Baseball was black america's favorite sport for over a century and the nba didn't allow dunking until 1975 :comeon:

the Negro Leagues disappeared, because blacks willingly chose to abandon them.... not because white owners diverted our interests into basketball and football.....because blacks did it themselves.... It wasn't a fukking conspiracy.

Do you know what so many Samoans play football? because A) they're naturally built for the sport B ) it's one of the fastest ways to get off that island, get an education and make money.

the latter is why blacks left baseball, and went into football and basketball as top preferences....because those two sports have a far faster track to improving your life than baseball does.

But yeah, keep thinking that white owners conspired to get rid of blacks playing baseball...by funneling them into the fukking NBA and NFL.

for a long time boxing was dead but youll see more after they see the money floyd is getting.....now wilder about to make more athletes lace up

boxers are golden age money wise....these dudes eating good right now

Boxing won't come back until blacks (and Americans in general) are being funneled into boxing at a very young age... you don't learn how to box at such high levels without a lifetime of working at it.

a kid who's never picked up a basketball or football in his life, or knew of the sport...can pick the sport in HS,get a college scholarship, and be a pro within 3 years, if not sooner... you can't do that in boxing.

i'd rather be a 50 year old former football player, than a 50 year old former boxer.

But to answer the question...it's because basketball and football are much faster tracks to stardom, and to making good money.

The answer is that football, basketball, and baseball(to an extent) are free when you're an adolescent all the way through high school........There is no free boxing curriculum you can be a part of starting at 11 years old....

Simple answer is money even top fighters make less than most league averages/dudes on the bench. I bet Bynum made more on his off day than Ward made in his career.

Philly. Fucc a Eagle. I mean dat.
The answer is pretty obvious, but the better question would be why did american blacks stop playing baseball, which is the best sport to make it in and cake.

I mean you could make it in baseball if you have mad speed and are just able to put a bat on a ball just a little bit.

Not to mention if the good Lord blessed you with the ability to pitch with your left hand.:banderas:

If I have a son that's left handed, we going to work early. Not throwing hard, but the art of pitching & location.
:ohhh: i gotta get my tall, lanky ass lil brother pitching. he left handed and he said he wouldnt mind playing baseball.

WBO, WBC, WBA, IBA, silver belt champion, diamond belt champion, Rank number 15 fighting for the championship. It's too corrupt. :to:The average person can't keep track of who's champion so it's difficult to follow plus you gotta pay to see your guy fight. Ball players come in and get automatic attention.

Imagine if you had to pay 59.95 to see the Detroit Lion play for a wild card spot.:yeshrug:
If the leagues didn't their money 500 other ways then be sure they would. Boxers aren't selling jerseys and apparel.

you pick at an early age typically which sport you want to go in

most black parents rather stick their kids into basketball (you can find a hoop anywhere) or football (pee wee leagues all over ). Baseball is next and boxing, the amount of free gyms in the hood or black neighborhoods have dwindled.

So most black kids get put into basketball and football leagues

Rep for mentioning baseball, it's crazy how easily people forget that was THE black sport. I think the powers that be pushed us out... Baseball was, and was always intended to be (White) America's pastime, they weren't having it when a bunch of negros tried to intrude :comeon: At the same time the negro leagues were caking in their own respect, so they allowed us in and slowly deferred to the dominicans and cubans. Competition was eliminated and a source for outside talent was regulated to their liking :ehh: meanwhile, basketball and football blew up... just open season for nikkas. If you were balling, they had a spot for you. Sure enough, we forgot all about the game :manny:
blacks stopped playing baseball because

1) it costs too much to play
2) schools don't support it at all compared to football and basketball
3) its boring as fukk to watch - i think baseball's primary demo is old white guys now.
4) even with the money, the marketing and crossover potential is recognized as being worse than hockey as of 2012

this has nothing to do with the fact that i hate baseball btw :duck:
