a Knockout is the same as a concussion, people get concussions in a Football every game, and they play week to week

next to mention all the other injures

Football and basketball are backed by the schools. Every school has a hoop and playing field, so even if you don't have elders teaching you, you can still develop the skills in the school yard. After you reach a certain age, schools start holding team tryouts and tournaments, which displays your talents to scouts, the scout then offer you education for your talents and if your really good enough you go pro or you can even go overseas.

I think boxing could be more like high school/college wrestling. a second tier sport but still have the school funding.

No the point is their both dangerous sports, and the danger has nothing to do with why the poster thinks boxing is being neglected

football recruiters scout kids who aren't even middle school

if you don't happen upon a great trainer, or get discovered in some gym it will be very hard for you
to get the proper trainer you need to become champion

its just easier to get into pro football than it is professional boxing

plus a lot of parents are scared of letting their kids box, but don't understand football has the same dangerous and a lot of players suffer from brain damage in High School
