Why did Cali have 2pac back more than Dre's even tho Dre was from Compton?

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
nikka what!?!?!?

Dr dre is behind NWAs sound. DR DRE made The chronic. You couldnt pick the 16 best songs from every tupac album and come up with better album than the chronic, production wise, lyrically , sonically, conceptually.

Dr dre made flawless masterpieces you nikkas is re writing history

Ice Cube wrote all the lyrics and they were never the same when he left. Pac got more hits. Dre only made 2 solo albums. I'm judging them as artists not Dre the producer.

Dre made better music in 89-93. Pac was making better music in 94-96. That's why they sided with Pac. Cause at the time it was going down, Pac was making the best music. It's not really any deeper than that.

Same reason they sided with Dre over Eazy, 50 over Ja, Ross over 50, Cash Money over No Limit, Drake over Common.

Plus people bought into Pac's star power and reckless lifestyle. By then, Dre had been through alot of shyt and was older...he just wanted to fall back.

He's from NY. He didn't even grow up in Cali. Cali nikkas is QUICK to tell a nikka like Xzibit "you from New Mexico" but give PAC the pass because he's PAC.

I spend a lot of Time in California so I know nighas is very territorial with they city's and don't let nobody claim it if they not really from there.
Didnt know Marin City and Oakland wasn't in cali. K.

I always had a feeling like Dre enjoys being a studio gangsta, because as soon as any drama starts, he would leave the situation. Always on the sidelines, in the background, like he doesn't have a voice of his own. Even for the beef with Eazy, he had to side with Snoop to actually go against him. Or recently when 50 and The Game were beefin', two of his proteges - Dre did nothing to mediate or fix things. He laid low, because he's "busy with Detox"...

Pac on the other hand was a loudmouth, outspoken, direct, straight to the point. I guess people didn't really choose Pac because of some geographical feature, but because they could actually relate to him in many ways, and by extension, with his music.

fact is it wasnt just what Pac said

it is also what dre said himself -

my cali folk know that even tho dre n snoop basically won that ruthless beef .. them r words didnt fall on def ears

when Pac said what he said

and then dre said gangsta rap was dead and he was movin away from it ( it basically co signed everythin pac n suge was sayin )

folks moved away from dre ..

coz cali is more then just gangsta n rap - he basically looked @ us like he was better then the lifestyle and the way the shxt is out here

They didn't win the Ruthless beef. Real Motherfuccin Gz >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

and Bone Thugs outsold Snoop and Dre combined

Here on the East Coast, as kids, we thought Dre was the biggest gangster in Cali. Lol

If he was direct and straight to the point why he didnt go after the real shooters at Quad studios ?
