2021 Nba draft 2nd rounders

Herb Jones, Miles Mcbride, Dosunmu, Queta, Banton, Brandon Bostn Jr, Mamukelashvii, aaron wiggins, Jericho Sims

Yea scraping the barrel. Good job by those teams for getting value, but most if not all are fringe NBA players and most benefited from playing on bad teams and having a green light.

Wiggins the only one of that group that gets props for carving out PT on a stacked OKC team.

Yall are naming the 10 2nd round picks of the last 20 years that made it :heh:

It’s frighteningly accurate that if you drop to the 2nd you are not making it. It’s probably like 95%. Go to any draft page and it’s nothing but guys playing in Guangong

Bronny got 4 guaranteed breh :childplease:

Herb Jones is a starter, Mcbride first off the bench for the knicks, Donsumu was starting for the bulls for a minute

Alot of second round guys have talent but you get less chances to showcase, you can be trash but if you are a lotto pick at least 2-3 teams will give you a chance

Less than 30ish players under 6'2" in the NBA. It's really hard being undersized.

Really a testament to a guy like AI who was able to dominate at his size

Even in this most recent draft, filipowski, mogbo, ighodaro, larsson, shead, quinten post all looked decent this year

All on losing teams :francis:

I like to call it the Tony Wroten effect. Man dudes was losing their shyt at Tony wroten toward the end of one of the process seasons. Was averaging 20+. Then the next season was averaging 17 and 5. Meanwhile these were some of the worst rosters in nba history. He was out the league after that. Granted he got hurt, but none of what he was doing was gonna carry over when they actually got a roster. Somebody had to score. Henry Sims averaged 11 and 7. Out the league 2 years later. Isaiah Canaan averaged 11. Out the league 2 years later.

So yea I put no stock at all in guys putting up numbers on losing teams, especially 2nd rounders or undrafted guys. Happens all the time. Ironically this years Philly squad is a good example.Justin Edwards putting up 20 a night. Quinton Grimes all of a sudden looking like prime Kobe. Etc

NBA has to have the worst scouts out of all major pro sports
They actually got it the hardest. They get 2 cracks at figuring out the best 19 yr old or foreign player. And there is nowhere to stash on a 15 man roster. As opposed to football where you seen dudes play in America for 3 or 4 years and you got 7 picks and 90 man rosters all offseason. Baseball you got a bunch of rounds (dont know off top but its certainly more than 2) and you got an entire, multi-level minor league system.

He wasn't that good. Dude worked his ass off in the off-seasons in Dallas. His shooting and floater game are 1000x better than his rookie season.
A National Player of the Year who led his team in scoring his junior year and won two championships wasn’t that good? Again, he was the leader of the team, and two of his teammates went ahead of him in the draft (same age as him).

You can stash in the g league as long as they have under 3 years of service

Gotta remember NBA scouts look at his height and think he'll struggle with the length of NBA defenders. They weren't fully wrong. But Brunson's work ethic was undervalued.

Kings County
The Knicks offer blindsinded them. He wanted to stay with the Mavs but they offered 4 years/55. He wanted a little more but they wouldn't budge. Then Leon Rose and World Wide slid in on some

It also helped that he grew up a Knicks fan.
