The NBA doesn't like smaller, slow, unathletic combo guards. If he couldn't be a PG, and not tall or athletic enough for a SG, they're not gonna give him much leeway. But Brunson also worked his behind off...a staple of the Villanova players. He's shifty and creative. He's also given way more room to operate than he would with any other situation at that time.

Only been one, yes 1, small guard who has led their team to an NBA title. ONE.

He still wasn’t valued enough to be taken in the first round. I would’ve taken my chances with the champion NPOY over a defensive guy.
Every team has different needs and wants. In round 2 im either seeking a specific skill or a specific build in a developmental prospect. I’ll go back to what I said earlier. That draft was also deep at guard

Steph Curry doesn’t exist?

Curry ain't that "short" to me (6'3" in shoes). Not as short as Zeke, but no issues adding Curry.

But 2 nikkaz pretty much in the history of the league just shows how much of an outlier that shyt is. top 3 pgs of all time with Earv.
