you only really had a point with hbk & cena, who were constantly booed out of the building as faces.

and even with the kids, undertaker was never a main attraction.:heh:

So you don't think a big muscular guy who looks like Thor, had a cartoon, referred to his fans as his "little Hulkamaniacs", and told them to eat their vitamins was marketed toward young people?

Or a guy who wears bright colorful face paint and is basically a comic book character who again, specifically makes reference to his fans who are children... not for the kids?

Even with Austin and Rock, they had a more adult-oriented appeal, but you know who loved their schtick more than adults? Teenagers.

And as much as people complained so much about the "PG Era"... anybody over 30 probably became fans during the first PG Era.

hogan & warrior had the kids on lock, but they also had the adults rockin.

and hogan was huge before all that. hulkamania popped off in the AWA.

we're equating teenagers to lil kids now? REACH.

most people who became fans during the 1st PG era that didnt "grow out of wrestling" are not thinking the same way they did 25 years ago. REACH.

The real reason that nobody ever addresses, out of respect or some shyt, is quite frankly, his promos were nyquil.

Name one memorable undertaker promo that contained more than just "rest in peace", when he finally started talking during the attitude era, he used to come out and ramble on to the point that he caught feelings when jericho told him he was boring.

this was the PEAK of undertaker's piss-break status.

undertaked being hailed as some sort of goat is beyond laughable.

:snoop: :heh:

No one is equating kids to teens... but they all fall under the title of 'young people'... and yeah, most of us PG Era Version 1 fans don't think like we did as kids... but WWF wasn't made personally for us, either- it was aimed at our age group. And eventually there was gonna come a time we were no longer in that age group. I'm not sayin' it's ONLY for young people, but it's never gonna be PRIMARILY for 30+ people either. :manny:

And yeah, I know Hogan was "poppin'" in the AWA, but Hogan wasn't marketed through MTV, cartoons, toys, and cereal in 1983. You know what I'm talkin' about...

Him not being the top guy may have helped him in the long run when you think about it. Just like Jay-Z who might not have been the undisputed rapper during any given year (though that is debatable) Taker hovered near the top and the fans never got tired of him which increased his longevity.
