Not going to lie. I like violent movies.Western culture worships brutality. Particularly Americans. Which is why guns are almost sacred in this country, they represent brutal force. A basic law of international relations is if you have a weak army you will sooner or later be invaded or overthrown and controlled.
We love to watch superheroes beat each other to a pulp, FPS shooter games, and over the top, hyperviolent movie fare because those represent our values.
