I don't
if it wasn't for comm college, I wouldn't have gone past a high school education tbh
university culture is so overwhelming, from competing to qualify to applying to housing to networking
just being able to just quietly enroll in CC is a great option
plus you can even transfer if you want to further your educatiuon

Mostly this. CCs are full of kids who did poorly in high school or just finished their GED, single parents, people who dropped out of college, older people, and people who just got released from prison.
I went to a CC while I was in high school to get college credit and the level of stupidity in most classrooms is painful.
And part of it is the marketing of college, CCs are not fun to go to, the atmosphere of colleges is supposed to be fun, relaxing, a little neurotic during final exams, and a time for everyone to grow up. Its sex, drinking, and parties.
CCs are just bastions for a lot of people who have already started failing in life and are trying to stop the slide.
That's not to say they aren't a useful resource, and if you go there specifically to do well and transfer to a highly ranked 4-year school then more power to you, but the vast, vast majority of people are going to CCs and dropping out in a year or less.

True to an extent

But if you're taking some upper level classes like fukkin diff eq and calc 3 and calc based physics and engineering dynamics at a cc
Then you'll be surrounded by a bunch serious students and they'll probably be even more serious that the kids at the local 4 year bc they still got something to prove to whatever school they are Tryna transfer to.

Not to mention the smaller class sizes and professors who for the most part genuinely like teaching vs the a$$hole profs at 4 year universities who only care about their research

Even still though..the freshman experience, getting away from your parents, being in a new environment, I'm glad I was able to experience it, Made some life long friends, and experienced new things that I wouldn't have normally experienced early on had I not been in the university environment. :wow:

CC is mostly full of dummys who arent taking college seriously but its all what you make of it

:what:

Good luck paying off your loans. :francis:

OT- I plan on attending CC next year. Why not? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Obama propose CC to be free in the near future?

If you go to a community college in Illinois and have above a 3.0 then you're automatically guaranteed admission into any 4 year university in the state. And the community colleges are less than a half hour away from the major schools, so you all meet/know/hang out with the same people.

Only difference is one group has to pay an extra 40k just to live in crappy dorms and take lecture hall classes. :hahah:
