went to uni for a couple of semesters then i dropped out.

i don't know about the states but in canada, if your end game is getting a job, depending on the field you choose, the school you went to won't matter THAT much.

what will matter most will be who hooked you up/is vouching for you for the job, what your experience is, and if you fit in the company's culture.

EDIT: and if your end game is starting a business, all you really need is an internet connection and some cash to start up. or someone/an institution willing to front you the cash. unless of course you're starting a business in something where you need to be certified.

I wouldn't go as far as saying college/university is a scam but you gotta go what exactly you,re getting out of it and be really cold about it. as far as bigger school vs cc, i say if it's the same credits and it gives you the same access at the end, choose the cheaper option. most of the learning can be done by reading or online anyway.
It depends man. shyt I know if I wanna be a teacher that mcgill shyt gon help me lots :wow:
I'm def gon get involved and get good grades too :manny:

Same reason they would diss a Toyota and give props to a Benz... Both do the same thing but one seems more prestigious therefore the user feels better about themselves.

One has proven itself over the years to produce classic, powerful vehicles

Mercedes Benz aint nothing to play with

I go to a community college.

I felt ashamed going my first year. People are saying who bashes going to community college? You have to understand. The common thought process of a high school student graduating is once I actually graduate I need to go out and experience life and never come back. Then you go to community college while every one you know goes to some uni living the some life you dreamed up. You imagine going out on weekends and having fun and meeting new people but in reality you go to community college and the people who are stuck around are kids who got married and had kids right out of high school.

Then in community college, there is no boundry on who can take a class. When you graduate just to have classes with high school students again, just to have classes with older adults who have multiple kids or can't even work a computer right. It just feels horrible. You question yourself and actually believe your not progressing in life.

But I've grown from that and realized I'm blessed to be in my position.

CC is a great option if you're really trying to get the first 2 years done at a heavily discounted price. The problem is that when people hear community college, they picture the guy with no direction, no major, and drops most of his classes every semester but tells everyone he's going to college. That's the exact description of most of the cc people I knew, I only know a couple who transferred to a 4 year afterward.

If you dont get a scholarship then community college for a year or 2 is great

If you werent a great hs student you cam do a year of cc and get into a better university than you would have been able to before

Community College is a great option to save money. I got enough to money to go to a four year university, but I would have to pay for some fees and a portion of my room&board out of pocket. In addition to that, fees change yearly and I did not want to deal with the struggle of not knowing how I'm going to pay for a class. I enrolled in CC and never paid over $2,000 a semester. I have an A average GPA and I'm almost done.
I think part of the stigma comes from being told that you HAVE to go to a university and experience life and etc. I am glad that I did not go to a university first. I met great people, developed great connections, and got a lot of opportunities attending CC. Plus I am $0 in debt. When I get my bachelors I will be $0 in debt. Most of the people I know who went straight to university are at least $5,000 in debt by the end of their first year. I always tell people to attend CC first and transfer. Now if you have a scholarship that covers EVERYTHING and gives you at least $1,000 back each semester then go to university. If I could do it all over again I would still go to CC. My cousin went to CC maintained a GPA above a 3.5 and transferred to a good university with a full ride scholarship.
