I started at community college and used it to boost my gpa, I have a 3.5 gpa and used it to to get accepted to major universities. I had the option of going straight into the university route if I wanted to out of HS but I was a little overwhelmed by college life so I eased into it.

Cause they aren't in college at all or their parents paid for a good university/they went into mad debt to go to a university. Most CCs are starting to offer 4 year degrees so the line is getting blurry between the two anyways.

I've never heard of this...

But I have noticed some universities are getting stingy with the transfer credits. I swear you just can't win. It's always money, money, money.

OK just wanted to clarify. Yeah in Florida (I'm got my AA from SFC in Gainesville, FL where UF is) its becoming pretty standard. I know they wanted to compete with UF for local students, to be able to charge triple the price for courses, and get more public funds as far as the place I went. Its essentially the same for all other CCs. They're just dropping a C and calling them Colleges now.

My wife works at one and she said that high school kids can take classes there and get college credits for it. She said she wish she woulda went to cc fresh outta high school instead of goin straight to a university

That's what I did. Got my associate's degree for free at a collegiate high school on a community college campus.

If ya'll have kids you should look into that. You'll save so much money. :banderas:
