Why do men take child support so personally?

A couple of reason. I know through friends with kids.

1. A lot of times it the money goes to the mom so she can get material shyt for herself.
2. The rate is too high out of their check, which prevents them from doing more for their kids like taking them to amusement parks.
3. Also it's not fair that the women automatically gets custody. There are Dads that want custody of their child that are more responsible than the mother.

From what I've seen it's the mother that benefits the "support" than the actual kid...and let's not even get on people actually making big money...females getting retirement/NBA contracts/lottery tickets.

^^^exactly - as soon as you bring your child in the world your life should shift to them rather than you. People are so freaking selfish and demand their own happiness but quick to say f the happiness and development of my child...smh

let me put it like this... if y'all (not you personally) was still fukking, but not together, would he be paying it?? most would say no... most don't even bring up child support off top... it's not till they get left, feel scorned, get cheated on, or he has another baby with someone else, THEN they go to child support

then after that the courts come up with some bullshyt.... not "hey both of y'all put in the same amount, and that amount will be a set amount that it costs to raise a child" nah no logic like that

just "hey, she's a woman, she gets the baby, give her 40% of your check" don't matter if i'm making 20k a year or 20k a month, you get 40%. so on one hand you saying it costs 100 a month to raise a child... and if i'm diddy, then it costs 50k a month



and when i'm paying 700 a month or 7000 a month, who's to say that's going to my child? broads out here living off 4 child support checks, with no job.. and yet i'm living with moms, so i can pay your rent for you?

now i'll give a real life example... my girl has my son.. i moved for work, but we still semi together... but we are 3 hours away.. in 4 years of his life, i've been there everyday the first 3 years, moved, and still call every day, see him every 2 weeks, and she usually comes down or i go up when i do that..... AND i pay her electric and give her extra money for him



i asked her once, what she would do if i got another girl........ without ever once even bringing up CS, her first words were "go put your ass on child support"



knowing she'd get about 600-700 a month, and knowing it'd kill my life to give that up, AND most important, knowing my son wouldn't need that money.... that's still the first thing she'd do.... why? to get back at me


and we aren't supposed to take that personal?

Another reason men take child support personally, because women make it personal.

Often times, the 2 parties can agree on a dollar amount and the man can give the woman support for the child as needed

Instead, the woman running to the white man to act as a mediator and bestow more money on the woman then she may actually require. If you running to the white man to make a man give you money, its personal.

This is a tactic women often use when they want revenge, outside of a man just being a dead beat.

I understand a man trying to abandon his child being held accountable.

I dont understand a man willing to work out a set amount the kid needs and instead the woman runs to the white mans court to put paperwork on him out of spite.

Its personal, because she made it that way, often.

at any time, you can request to see what's being done with your money... if she's unable to show receipts that add up to what you been giving her, you can take her ass to court and she'll lose rights and owe money


most dudes don't know about this, or don't believe it'll work, get you a lawyer and surprise her ass one day, asking for an audit... let you be giving up a G a month and there's no money in the bank, no receipts for items for the kids and she been out on vacation

it doesn't matter what you intend in a relationship if the woman decides she does not want to be with you. you will be put on CS all the same.

no one in this thread has said they don't want to support their kid. the point is the amount and what it's being used for. just because you know 1 guy who had to pay $35 don't act like it pertains to everyone. dudes out here paying a grand or more AFTER taxes. Idk what kind of child needs anywhere near that amount of money for a month, especially if you're only supposedly providing half the support.

it's clear who the bulk of the money is going to. why would anyone be ok with giving a person money who is not with them? do you give your exes money? well, you might because you're a simp, but most men don't .

My whole thing is and this is MO but I feel like us as men should be responsible to keep the family unit together under all circumstances. He should provide for them, while she raises the family and cares for the home.

As men we should make smart decisions to make sure the family stays in tact as in don't creep on ur spouse, be loyal..imean I get there's a chance she could go out and creep but let's be honest - we have a TON of control in this...so there shouldn't be any reason the family would ever not be if us as men do our job right then there would be no convo about child support.
