Why do people act like Terminator Salvation was a bad movie?

Terminator 1 isn't a visual masterpiece, but, it introduced something movie cinema never saw before, and it introduced a "moment" where fans of a genre were both created and were seeking to dive in. For me I consider it alongside Robocop...technically bad, but a movie that needed to happen for the culture, therefor making it great. Definitely not GOAT, but an iconic film.

T2 - Quotables, decent enough acting, better visuals/cgi, and a pretty easy story to follow. Easily better than the first...but still, you can't beat the impact of T1.

Salvation was basically an anime, so while I enjoyed it, I get why most people didn't. Visuals were on point, the story wasn't as convoluted as people make it out to be, it also shifts the point to John Connor, which we all wanted.

Just finished watching this again... Still have ZERO fukking clue what people's problem is. This is definitely the third best movie in the franchise

After that dumpster trash of part 3... what did people want? ANOTHER fukking "hey we sent just oooooooooone more terminator and savior back, even tho we said we sent the last and destroyed the machine, 30 mins into the first movie"

then after seeing the worst movie of the current century, in part 5 or genisys or whatever the fukk........ people still shyt on Salvation

This had some good acting, good story, kept a lot of things canon to match up with the first movie, and left the door open for more future robot war movies.. but nope.. fans fukked that up and let them keep fukking up the franchise, trying to do the same ass story 5 damn times in a row

I like Salvation, though I see it as part "anime", from the presentation to the reveal towards the final act. However, this was a franchise that was built off cheesy one liners and one actor with a penchant for steroids. T3 tried the formula, but the villain was awful, FemT000 was just cringe, the plot was smart, Arnold delivered, but the villain was weak. In that sense, Salvation didn't have a major villain, besides a T800 used to generate some hype, but by that point of the movie, the big reveal was all that mattered.

Terminator is a masterpiece. Blends horror sci fi action thriller , look, sound and feel all in one. One of the first imo to pull it off flawlessly almost.

T2 is a big budget action juggernaut that flipped the script and did everything bigger, made linda hamilton a bad ass without anyone blinking or complaining whatsoever, cgi that still looks better than some shyt today...

T3 was cookie cutter repeat but fun

Salvation was overacted sci fi channel bullshyt

Genesis was a weak by the numbers attempt at regenreating intrest by connecting with modern society. I dont want my terminator to ge an app.

I know they going full ai route on new one but i want it dont right. If this one dont work and by first looks... it WILL NOT ... im out.

T1/2 godfather level action flicks. Rest. Cash grabs

I get what y’all saying. It wasn’t that terminator feel. Terminator is man vs terminator. Or man and protector vs relentless killing machine.

How many times can they pull that off? First movie says we sent one, they sent one, machine destroyed. Oops there was another 2. By 3, it’s like ok come on now. Y’all really wanted terminator 4 to be that same shyt again? And 5. And now this new one too?

They had to move it along. Just like Alien. All the power was in the fact that you went in blind. And discovered slowly through the movie, what this monster could really do and how relentless and smart it was.

Even they knew by part 2.... we can’t just do that over and over. The second one was more an action movie. But they kept it perfect like 1.

By 3 and on..... they kept trying to go back to part 1. One alien vs humans, and it falls off cause we just rehashing the same shyt. Same plot lines. No advancement of where is the overall story headed.

We all know where terminator is headed. We gonna time jump 100 movies straight or get to the robot war and conclusion at some point?

3 and salvation should’ve been a 2 part film showing the start of the war & johns rise to leader of the human resistance in part 1 and part 2 showing the build to the final battle, with the end scene maybe being John sending Kyle back in time after the war has been won in the present.

See now that would be dope. I think it was gonna be a trilogy and get to that point but fans cancelled that.

So what they do? Let’s rehash the time jump and basically retcon everything and start over. With the same ass concept again.

Same with predator. They don’t realize the unknown alien/predator/terminator and what it was and could do was the power. You can’t rehash that 5 times and it work out.

All 3 franchises are down the drain because of that stubbornness

the future scene of T2 was more exciting than Salvation. If they did Salvation like that, I'm all in. I'm not against the idea of salvation, it was the execution. Same shyt could be said about Genysis...had some nice ideas, but execution was meh
