Why do people call of work for being sick?

Havent had a sick day in over 5 yrs.

I dont understand how adults get sick enough where they cant function.

Terrible immune systems...amh

unless it's excruciating pain why call off for being sick? I rather still get payed and work slow then not get payed at all. Just seems dumb.
