Why do so many drivers drive with their high beams on at night?

I hate people who do this with a passion. Anytime I see an oncoming car with their high beams on and they refuse to turn them off, I quickly flick mine on so they know how irritating it is. I made one guy have to brake hard and he started beeping his horn at me :russ:

I don't know if I'm getting old but I find that I can't see sh1t when driving at night. The headlights aren't strong enough. Even the Xenon joints. But dem high beams....:wow::whew:

I always assume its cuz their headlight is out and they don't want to get pulled over cuz that's the only time I do it. But usually if they don't show the courtesy to cut them off as we get closer I just turn my high beams on too and look away so they can get their dose too.

If they are behind you, you can adjust the mirror so it reflects back and they might get the picture.

.....this is something I need to know. I hate the jerks that drive behind you with high beams on that shyt is terrible.

http://www.answers.com/Q/Do_you_dim_your_headlights_on_a_divided_highway

In some states, if not all, the law requires drivers to dim their headlights for approaching traffic within 500 ft (commonly) but only on the same "roadway." The term roadway is not the same as highway. A divided highway consists legally of two separate roadways. Therefore, the laws generally do not require a driver to dim headlights for the oncoming traffic of the opposite roadway.

I drive with them shyts at night in areas with no lights at all on a divided highway :manny:

I remember in my younger days my dad used to I think tilt the mirror up a bit. Not sure the right methods. I have mine set high anyways. Someone should know more.

:ohhh:

I don't know how long it would take to master this.

But I have, while on the highway before, slowed down to let someone with a high beam pass me, then tailgate behind them with my high beams on for a little bit. :russ: Funny times.

I had my high beams on by mistake the other day in bk and this fukking hipster chick who I just saw run over a stop sign (coming from another direction) stops in the middle of a one way gets out her car and starts waving her finger at me saying TURN YOUR fukkING LIGHTS OFF OR IM NOT MOVING. Because of the way she went about it I looked back at her and said :stopitslime: NO..this bytch turned off her car and got out with her arms crossed so I'm just like :aicmon: fine lady go..and I turned off my high beams.

So as she drives up to the red light I turned them bytches back on and I had enough space at the corner to pull up beside her And get by...this bytch got so furious she tried cutting me off and almost hit me while I'm looking at her with the :youngsabo: face and my middle finger out...she cursed me out of course and made her right..then I turned off my lights at the next block lol

These hipsters is crazy tho how you jumping out your car cursing out strangers in BROOKLYN close to midnight...she lucky I wasn't one of them crazy goons from east new york driving by lord knows the shyt she would've got into :whew:

Tried this last night at a long red light, playing with the mirror at just about all angles. Didn't seem to work. :upsetfavre:
