Why do so many famous NY people have no NY accent?

Because NY is full of people who moved there from other countries and other states. Ex. My mom and her siblings and my siblings born and raised in NYC. My grandmother is from Ohio, Grandfather from Panama, Father from Trinidad. :yeshrug:

Or maybe they moved away before puberty or else they'd have a permanent accent.

No one in NY talks about the south. We listen to your music and food, that's it. Literally. With that said, the south to us for the most part is ATL and Miami. That's it lol. And no, the south (a region) does not get talked about as much as NYC so just stop. No one in NY talks about Dallas. NO ONE. in fact, I couldn't tell you anything about Dallas except for the cowboys and mavs. And NY will always be cool, we just like to argue, it's always been in our nature (especially when the corny shyt that's spouted on this forum is treated like gospel) lol
Bruh stop it. The south is more relevant than NY right now in pretty much every aspect. Its even more immigrants who move to the south than to NY nowadays

Yall had yall time but its over :trash:

City hella wacc now.

distinctive accents are becoming a thing of the past. and there are many people who lived in NY their whole life with out a stereotypical "new york accent"
Yeah its mainly Jews, Irish and Italians. Plus each borough has its own slight accent. With tv and internet, we might have a universal American accent within a few generations.

See, this the type of response I'm talking about. This is the type of dude who will brag about who his homie is fukking. Let's talk actual cities (because really, how many cities are really hot in the south:jbhmm:) in the south because some of y'all dudes are getting too comfortable with the regional shyt. On some we shyt when Atlanta dudes don't prolly even like yall:manny: With that said, I got nothing but love for the south. Most of my fam is from there. But a dude from Dallas trying to front on ny:martin: style?? Slang?? Anything:martin:??? We have neighborhoods that are more important than your cities:jawalrus: and that's a fact. And we'll always be relevant so get over it because you're pouring jelly all over yourself if you think otherwise:umad:. And I love everyone (especially my black peoples) but these threads and some of the bs some of these posters are selling is pathetic.
