Why do so many famous NY people have no NY accent?

I for example don't really have a NY sounding accent cause I moved from another country and lived in the city from age 6-13 and even during then I traveled out often because of family and business in outside the city and country.

i dont doubt or negate what you put, i just know a lot of people think NYC is mainly SOUTHERN with their AA population and the truth its not Migration that made a certain population in NYC.
and those who immigrated in were all colors and creeds from 1900-1993 mainly.
before then and after then is a different story, but 1900-1993 was magical and pissed a lot of cacs off.
