People have to want better for themselves. You can't want better for them.

But I definitely feel you.

The Coli jokes a lot of about building etc but in real life so many people really don't care. That's why the people who grinded and awarded in the end earned it. Yet someone you tried to put on game will be envious and try to destroy what you built bc they didn't have the same ambition you had.

Hey if you can make it work in MIA, do it. But remember to make sure you cover your ground as far as paperwork and you know exactly what that fine print telling you.
Exactly. And that's why I think this is a good thread. Ideally living in the inner city wouldn't be that bad if everyone wanted better for the neighborhood. Unfortunately, most people in those parts don't give a sht. You don't want to live too long around people that don't give a sht about anything

I grew up in the hood. I never knew anything else. shyt is home. I finally moved out after a few years of my girl trying to talk me into it. She was tired of random gun shots. I hesitated because I felt safe rent was cheap. My daughter was mad young and already knew the drill of hiding under the bed when she heard shots. We lived on first floor. One day I opened to go to work and cop's were standing over the dead body of a guy from my building. I knew that we had to move that was enough.

I later was told they killed dude for 80 bucks he owed. I didn't even know him like that but he always said what's up to me and chat a little I knew his wife and family from building. Killed for 80 bucks ?:why: dam I would have given him 80 bucks to spare his life.

well didn't C-Murder stay in the projects despite being a millionaire? It's possible to stay in the hood and not become a victim.

i grew up in the hood and tbh the crime wasn't so bad. mostly, the dudes just wanted to deal their drugs in peace :manny:.

Now the school system are definitely a big reason to move to a different part of town.

And look at what happened to C Murder... That was a terrible, terrible analogy.

C murder is currently serving a life sentence for murdering a 16 year old.... That's why it's a terrible analogy.
a murderer isnt a victim.

my post was about people saying living in the hood while well off means you'll be robbed and killed.

I Stayed in the hood for a hot second in my college days.

The shyt really ain't the wave breh.

But amidst the bullshyt, there's a lot of comradery in the hood that just doesn't exist in most burbs, esp your cookie cutter subdivision type of neighborhood like where my parents live

at the same time its not a place you wanna be at if you're trying to progress and if you have kids they may run into problems in and out of school.

School systems, it's all about the schools. White people moving to the city are paying a hidden tax called private schools that a lot of middle class blacks either don't want to pay or can't afford.

I live in a suburb right outside Atlanta, like cross a bridge and I'm in Atlanta but we are moving to the burbs 25 minutes away because the public schools here are failing and our neighbors are spending 20k per year to send a kid to the big private school up the street. We not spending that kind of coin when we can get a nice house in the burbs and send the kid to school for free.
thats going to end soon with your boy trump and his Sec of Educations, "school choice" program

Forreal. I mean there are crooks, derelicts and thieves but there's also a real family type atmosphere at the same time.

AND now that I think about it my parents neighborhood is not even that bad compared to other subdivisions, bc we do know our immediate neighbors, but most families here really do just keep to themselves and these kids really don't socialize with each other outside of school.

I blame technology

Inner.

A lot of people honestly just don't have the resources man. And there's a certain mentality down here that sucks.

I've been reading books on investments and sharing my knowledge and literally no one cares :heh: one guy laughed at me because I said I was thinking about retirement. I cut him off the 3rd week of dating bc he literally was trying to tell me I'm nuts for wanting better. Like the mindset down here is fukkin retarded. Ignorance gets everyone's attention and people who are trying to make it or made out to look like something wrong with them. I miss that East coast grind (DMV) and progress mentality.

I honestly know exactly where you were going with your OP but it's deeper than just buying up property.

Getting into that housing game is really chess and right now everybody seems to know the game but BLACK folks.

I learned that over 10 years ago before the Great Recession hit. When the economy was good, people were laughing at my face for investing money to do better.

Now after Obama gone and racism turnt up 1000, now people want to learn :martin:

You not alone, best to find like minded black folk and build from there.
