I don't get why people try to go against the grain and act like Iverson wasn't an amazing player. Especially when he was barely 6 feet and has scoring titles including averaging at least 30 points in a season multiple times.

Cats try to knock AI but he was that dude and i bet that everyone in the NBA still respects him and many like Russy D-Rose John Wall etc. owe him a thanks. Because he made it fashionable for teams to have scoring guards at the point position. Talk about shooting percentages you want but AI's is better or close as some of these cats that we praise now and call some of the best.

What Iverson lacked in efficiency, he more than made up for in scoring and ability. Pound for pound he was toughest guard Ive seen play & nobody could guard bruh in his prime.

Except all the people I named could score just as many and on much higher EFFECIENCY?

Wade dropped 30 on 50% shooting which is better than anytging Iverson did

i understand the respect he's earned from being the super-tough, "no-fukks-given" small guy/one man army dude who made a significant cultural impact on the nba, the style of play, the fashion, etc. but if you can't see the big gaping holes in iverson's game, then you're a stupid motherfukker...and your basketball iq is dog shyt, straight up. he was a terribly inefficient (and yes, you dumb fukks, before you say anything, efficiency DOES matter) high-volume scorer who wasn't a particularly good defender, other than gambling and getting in passing lanes.

that said, although i'm clearly not much of a fan, i think people shyt on him a bit too heavy. he deserves props for what he did and what he was.

At Iversons peak, combined with the popularity of And 1 mixtapes..... it spawned legions of overly confident kids who saw basketball as nothing more than a contest who could dribble the cutest and look cool on the court.....and saw no reason to answer/listen to anyone.


Iverson could've been far greater than what he was if only he shed that rebellious yet overly confident me vs. the world mentality in his 30's.
