Why does Detroit and The Bay Area have similar styles?

For the longest I'd hear these Detroit rappers and assumed they were from the bay.

Hell I thought Tee Grizzley was from the bay first time I heard him.

Anybody else notice Bay Area rappers and Detroit rappers sound alike?

And no I ain't tryna say the Bay invented anything
