because scarface is visceral gangsterism, raw and uncut street shyt about a dirty cuban nikka from the bottom who made it to the top through savage force. there was no subtlety to tony montana. godfather and its sequel, godfather 2, are classic movies that showed the life of a gangster from a more nuanced and artful perspective. the corleone story was a thoughtful meditation on the mob that was interspersed with intense but well placed instances of violence.

Its for nerds that rather focus on the "strategy" of situations than the execution, and since Godfather 3 was different (not as borin) they naturally hate it.
I mean they ran those first 2 movies over and over again for 16-18 years and brainwashed themselves so much into believin its godlike legacy that the third one was gonna disappoint no matter how good it really was, and of course there's the sheep that just go along wit whatever's popular so they call 1 and 2 goat and 3 horrible even if they ain't seen nan one of them. not reading all that shyt but I saw something about godfather stans. All I gotta say is that Godfather and Scarface are both overrated imo. Scarface is a cool ass movie in some respects, but that's not a movie I honestly ever plan on sitting down and watching from start to finish ever again. The movie itself just isn't that great, but the character of Tony Montana, some of the sets, the scenes, the soundtrack, those are classic, memorable things, but the movie itself
