Why does Hip Hop love Scarface so much and yet The Godfather 1 and 2 gets overlooked

Scarface is a classic great fukking movie from the start to the finish. Godfather 1 and 2 are over rated and by far fukking boring I hate movies that take 2 hours for it to get interesting.

I always saw Goodfellas as the perfect mix between Scarface and The GF..GOAT Mob movie ever.

However, as black people, it's faaaaaaaar easier to relate to a minority that came from the bottom and rose to being a big drug lord, than it is to relate to a bunch of Italians, that hate black people that were into Mafia shyt. We don't know nothing about that world.

There racism everywhere, among everyone of every background. But single out one group pf people and just say that they hate us is not accurate. The first two Godfather's might be the best movies of all-time. OF ALL TIME.

Like many of you said in here, people don't think there's enough action...but the parts
in between the "action" are the best parts! That's where the movie happened!

I don't know why it doesn't get the love in the hood that Scarface gets because they both are superior to Scarface by leaps and bounds. Ultimately, I think Scarface is easier to digest while both Godfather flicks have a lot going on thematically, character wise and a lot of nuance. It started as a B movie for Paramount and it became something a lot more than that. The Godfather is my favorite flick of all time so I will always ride for it but trust me, it's tough being black and telling people you don't like Scarface. They give you the . It's a great performance surrounded by a mediocre flick. And there's nothing wrong with that at all. I don't think it comes down to relating as much as it comes down to accessibility. The FIRST thing I always hear about The Godfather 1 and 2 when talking to someone about it, is the length. People who haven't seen it scoff at the length immediately. - Ethics

you have to understand how that affected the mob to appreciate it...

Apocalypse Now is one of the greatest films of all time.

As movie-movie I can see why. The epic scale, the writing, the acting, but the pace was just too slow for me. I just didn't give a shyt. Then again I was watching the uncut version so maybe that's why.
