Because it's self destructive. And no, the vine comps are mostly black kids, and world star in general. Not just a cultural issue it's a class issue too. But this is the coli where we talk about black issues so why should I feel the need to bring up other racesIt's not just our society. Kids everywhere are pressured to be cool. It's called being a kid. I see Indian, Asian, white and other kids doing dumb sh*t everyday. All those vine compilations are filled with kids of all races being stupid and cool. But only with blacks is it a cultural issue.
Not a single reply to this. What are we using as the markers for intelligence?![]()

Where is intelligence even bought up. You can be intelligent use it for the wrong purpose, or not use it at all, so it's not relevant to discussionNot a single reply to this.

100% same.
And its the same result...everytime. other races are the ones tha appreciate the talent and support them while black folks are the ones skeptical about them and criticizing them.
I'll tell you something as a black creative. With my latest collection...damn near all of my customers have been white. I actually went out of my way to get hispanic customers. I just wanted it to be more...universal so to speak.
I have never had a black customer buy any of my stuff. It boggles my mind. We would be operating the shop underneath the main store we rented it from and i would see tons of black folks spending their hard earned money at yet another white owned and operated establisbment just to rock those labels...but when i told them about my store...they would be like...okay. And not come through.
This actually brings me back to the tariq boots thingy...now its one thjng if you dont like em...but to not even give it a chance? Doing business on a day to day level i really got some insights on what its like to be a black business person and a black creative. Too many of us really do believe the white guy or the non black guy's ice is colder...just cause.
We often complain about why there arent many black owned this or that...but then when those come...we dont support them...and then they go out of business and we are back to square one.
There are different kinds of intelligence just like there are different types of geniuses i.e a music genius. You can't discuss genius, innovation or anything similar without having a clear benchmark. Also, genius is intrinsically tied to intelligence so it doesn't have to be "brought up." Y'all keep shytting on Black folks though.Where is intelligence even bought up. You can be intelligent use it for the wrong purpose, or not use it at all, so it's not relevant to discussion
Same here.I'm Nigerian so can't relate to this totally.
My excellence is celebrated.
So? Why should we use other races as a standard? Why is it seen as "negative" to want to push our people to a higher level? They might not "give a damn" but they own everything and we rent from everyone else for the most part. We must be doing something wrong and its important to be honest about our situation as a people to rise up.

I make music, dj, done visual arts, graphic design, painting, clothing...whatever interests me.Saw this countless times too over here in Europe.
What creative fields are you in breh? DJ, and clothing?
Anyway I agree with you. Can't really formulate my thoughts right now about why it's this way, but yeah. Also a lot of Black people I know here in Europe (thus Africans and children of African migrants) are generally more conservative than White counterparts.
Couldnt be more wrong but try again. Im 31 years old breh. Ive seen a whole damn lot and been through a whole damn lot but keep on speculating....its funny. Lol.OP and a few other posters in here sound like they've watched The Wire and CNN's Black in America, put a few hours in at a community center on a Saturday and are now experts on black issues in America.
Judging "hood" and "street" people when you wouldn't even have a conversation with anyone from that ilk![]()
