This was in my pop up shop in the lower east side of manhattan.

Made some sales in queens too but i had to make a significant markdown....the price is based on the limit of items i make i usually make 6 or less of each item.

You see i didnt grow up in the hood...i grew up in white suburbia for the majority of my younger years...when i turned 21 i just moved out and have been on my own since. I basically ended up resenting that whole experience and trying to (dare i say it) "become more street" after feeling like i was shunned from black folks from the hood and there were really no africans/west indians i could relate to in my area...basically i was trying to not be a bytch ass nikka...lol.

My Grandfather moved the family (before I was born) from Brooklyn to Queens back when there was mostly Jewish people in Jamaica in the 70's. He didn't want my mother and uncle living around and influenced by the "nikka Logic". Jamaica eventually became mostly Black in 20 years so then my mother told my father that we needed to move to escape the "nikka Logic" again to another part of Queens.

It's sad but it is what it is. In order to succeed as a Black person you have to run away from Black people, just behind the "White Flight". You have to be raised around Indians, Chinese, Whites to be inspired to be competitive enough to compete at the world level. They are coming from their countries hungry meanwhile we (and many Hispanics) are lagging behind on purpose because it's "cool".

I actually wanted to come back to this comment cause it made me think of something. My mom and dad emigrated to the states from st.kitts/st.croix/v.i. and nigeria respectively. We mostly lived in predominantly suburban white enclaves...eventually after a while i hated being that token black guy being in predominantly white public schools and not seeing anybody like myself.


My folks and my sister unfortunately are some haters that looked down on african americans. I had to distance myself from them because of this. Most of the black people that put me on, inspired me, or helped me out have been african american. In fact all of them were in my immediate situation...

Anecdotal evidence isn't proving anything. I've grown up in the Hood and as smart as I was growing up I rarely encountered dudes not embracing knowledge. I've definitely seen a decrease of that ignorant shyt you're talking about.

Why limit ourselves? There are plenty of black folk that ain't ignorant or from The hood or broke, but get shytted on for having a functional family unit. Stop limiting black folk on an income or thinking level.
