Depending on how you look at it, @SkillClash may have a point.

He may believe what he is doing is right and so do murderers and rapists, does it excuse their actions? the dude only hates these heroes because he feels they have usurped his rightful place at the top of the food chain, it has nothing to do with saving humanity and all to do with his vanity and lust for power and other selfish reasons
