Old school nikkas might have been vulgar too,but they did it with class:martin:....plusbyou can make it sound good when you writing it as poetry....new nikkas bluntly just saying what they gon do do to the p*ssy:pachaha:...the poetry is severly lacking in rnb, song writers dont have a way with words nowadays.

I Like That Crotch On Youuuuuu :ohhh::stopitslime::lolbron:

Cloud R&B/PBR&B is popular with the Blipster crowd and mature Blipster R&B (ie Solange, Xavier Omar) is for the buppies. If you want new R&B those 2 genres have a lot to offer imo. Sevyn makes wack run of the mill ish that sounds outdated

Why can't r&b be clean anymore:why:

Song was cool up until Ty Dolla started rapping about "p*ssy" this, "p*ssy" that.

That's one of the bigger problems with R&B today imo. Too much hip-hop influence and vulgarity.
Was is it ever really "clean" or was it just subliminal. I'm not really tripping off of Ty$. Collabs like this aren't really what killed the game, because I posted another song from her, that's pure r&b but has no buzz......

But now back to point, r&b has always had a subliminal / sexual content attached to it.....
What was "Little Red Corvette" all about.......

You cant just slide Trey Songz in there with Ja Rule and Drake,he was cosigned by Aretha:martin:....he just realized this vocalist shyt dont matter no mor eand he apparently aint a natural god given talent vocally,my nikka fell off hard as shyt:mjcry:

Far as Sevyn she just plain boring, everybody knows its all about how women relate to you,and women just for whatever reason dont gravitate towards Sevyn.
Breh it's deeper than that, I'm not just talking about Sevyn, well this thread specifically is, but there's plenty of other r&b artists that black women relate too that aren't popping like that. I mean I just heard about Mila J last year, from listening to my girl play music in the car, and some of her catalog is popping and black women are def fukking wit Mila J......

This song is absolute fire:

and she's Jhene Aiko's older sister. She recently did a playboy shoot:

Not necessarily...Ty Dolla is worst then most and even Ive called him out on his overly crude style of writing.....but a majority of newer artist can turn it on and off...they just realize fans like the vulgarity...Chris Browns Private Parts for instance
I'm not a big fan of Ty$ but people fukk with him.....I was surprised a couple years ago, when people the coli were talking about Kid Ink and Ty$. Who aren't the most the talented artists in the world, but the fact that they transcended from local LA artists to national known artists means alot.

there is only 1 spot (maybe 2) in mainstream music for a super successful black female artist
that spot is occupied by beyonce (and maybe rihanna)
try your luck in 5 years time when beyonce is over 40 and rihanna is pregnant out of wedlock!!
:manny:AFRICA-DAMUS IS CORRECT 50% OF THE TIME!!

Beyonce is only 35 bruh

20 something year old females find traditional r&b boring

You can't SERENADE a "SAVAGE" :camby:

RiRi makes the soundtrack to the pathetic lives of these ratchets

Because THOT HOP in the form of CARDI B and all these rappers has caused all these SINGERS to conform

Think about it the only time SEVEN got some serious airplay when she did a collaboration remix with the Fruits piru public spokesperson Chris Breezy :umad:

That's not true. There's a lot women out that like real r&b, they just have to search for it even harder. I thought it didnt exist anymore until recently I started looking for it. The powers that be, just make it harder to access. And cardi b aint even popping or big like that. I don't hear her on the radio. At least out here in LA.....

and this pop song was better:

Beyonce is only 35 bruh
and she'll be 40 in five years like i said
and by that time the little kids will have their own 'beyonce 2.0'
streeter looks like she's young enough, maybe she can slide into that spot once beyonce vacates it.
:francis:father time got no time for no man or woman.
:francis:beyonce's time on top is ticking.
:manny:it is what it is!!

She has no SOLO HITS... doesn't matter if we like her music or not... if she's not getting played on Radio (considering she's signed to a Major) she's not as visible as those who are. Her 1 hit record had Chris Brown on it... she needs to stand on her own on a hit record...

Her album just dropped it. It's pretty dope for the most part. But I don't even think I heard her main single on the radio even once, I just happened to be watching BET Soul once when this came on.....

Tell me this lead single aint fire:

@Ol' Otis @stomachlines

She sexy ass fukk too

Nothing in this song distinguishes her from any other "Singer" out there at the moment.

The game needs actual composers and producers producing singers again, not beat makers.

Singers need to start saying no to this trap&b nonsense.
