I Like That Crotch On Youuuuuu![]()

That's not the problem breh. She has plenty of songs of just singing. I already posted another song of her singing. The song in the op was obviously a song for the "radio / club".Nothing in this song distinguishes her from any other "Singer" out there at the moment.
The game needs actual composers and producers producing singers again, not beat makers.
Singers need to start saying no to this trap&b nonsense.

Her album is nothing like that. It's actually an outlier on the album:
Here's a couple dope tracks:
Breh it's deeper than that, I'm not just talking about Sevyn, well this thread specifically is, but there's plenty of other r&b artists that black women relate too that aren't popping like that. I mean I just heard about Mila J last year, from listening to my girl play music in the car, and some of her catalog is popping and black women are def fukking wit Mila J......
This song is absolute fire:
and she's Jhene Aiko's older sister. She recently did a playboy shoot:

....most of these women dont have cult followings like that, just look at how Cardi B blew up....lowkey Love and HIphop does give these women a platform to show who they are,and get women to buy in....its unfortunate they gotta appear on that mess, but its the best platform it seems....labels obviously dont have a clue how to market black women on they own. Plus black women gon have to learn how to market themselves at this point to be honest,so far getting naked everywhere is the go to idea thanks to these ho's like Rhianna and Beyonce
.

you can't honestly think r&b today sounds anything like 90s and 00s r&b....your opinion on this matter is null and voidAlso, R&B seems to refuse to evolve. A lot of new R&B songs could have been released in the 90s and 2000s. That's okay if you are catering to a niche market, but if you want mass appeal, you gotta evolve and stay with the times (which is mumble rap, for better or for worse). You need to be out there doing songs with Migos, Uzi, Yachty, 21 Savage, etc.![]()

I think because R&B is played when it comes to being done by R&B artists these days. Seems like this generation of fans are more content with nikkas who can't sing as oppose to those who can. It's not all the way their fault. Cause you gotta look at what they grew up listening too. What was mainstream for the last 10 years before she came along? Not a lot of great shyt to be honest.
we have this conversation every month about the same group of artists...i'm over it
《
streaming has made it so i can listen to who and what i want, sevyn has all sorts of space on my playlists...fukk what the industry decides they do and don't want to promote
congrats to SZA for breaking thru![]()
