I would advice all blacks to go into stem.

Undergrad : Mechanical Engineering but I work as a Network Engineer.

I will be doing my masters in Cyber Security Engineering which will be paid by the company I work for.

Wanna get paid, major in stem. I work a non stressful job for 40 hours a week and still have time to do w/e.

accounting is the most practical business degree. most business is common sense mixed in with fancy terms and acronyms.

Isn't Finance, Accounting also considered stem as it involves mathematics. I have been looking into banking training programs such as Private Bank Analyst etc. A family friend of mines got into one for the summer program those people ge ft paid big money, even more than engineers. Those cats got no work life balance.

you'd be surprised...especially considering how many people fail even the earliest accounting courses and have to drop out of Business programs. I've seen it first hand :patrice:

as for STEM...if you're not in Engineering specifically or Comp Sci you'll be hard pressed to really find a great job out of school and will have to go for your masters unless youre looking for a corporate job in finance such as:

Equity Research, Trading, Quantitative Finance, Risk Management, Actuarial science etc.

Thats at least how it seems in Canada. Life Science degrees aint shyt without medschool or grad school

Somewhere in Chicago
forget the overly-emotional responses

ie. "it's because these people lack imagination!!!!! Nerds!!!!"

No.

It's simple supply and demand.

What do you think makes this world we live in--on a very base and practical level?
Poetry and paintings? Fancy theories with no tangibility? No, those are luxury commodities, which is why those type of jobs are low-wage, low-demand, and high-supply.

Think: this forum wouldn't be possible without STEM majors. Neither would the internet, advancements in music, technology, iphones, etc., etc.

I say all this as a man who has success in both STEM and the arts, so this is my balanced perspective.

You know philosophy has a hand in scientific theory also, I wouldn't disregard it as a luxurious commodity.
