Why does the NBA rely on espn and ABC so heavy?

ESPN/ABC is incredibly lazy. They've gotten more lazy since this TV Deal was signed.

Rep. Insightful and well thought out post. People keep on bringing up streaming, but the overall marketing/promo/broadcasting that ABC/ ESPN has is overall bad.

Y’all can be lame as fukk sometimes. I hate that Disney is practically trying to own the nba. I hate that we don’t get TNT Finals which would be an immensely better product. The halftime show of Inside and just their knowledge of the game and turning it into a comedy show at the same time. It’s realer and cooler. It’s not the nerds and out of shape can’t do ten push-ups reporters trying to convince folks they are superminds of basketball. Espn uses rose and pierce and it just ain’t the same as Shaq Jet and Barks Barkley.

You’ll never see a Finals on TNT as long as you live. No matter how good the presentation is, it’s not a network.

Look at it this way, ABC has ESPN to rely on when there’s scheduling conflicts on the national network. What do the other major networks have? You’d be seeing games on NBC Sportsnet or some shyt.

I’ve had this thought but maybe have CBS/TNT team up for the Finals like they do for March Madness and that can provide another major outlet. In my perfect world, NBA would be evenly distributed between Fox, NBC, CBS/TNT, and ABC/ESPN on some NFL shyt.

TNT has cool personalities but shyt gets too goofy with all the lowkey hating and passive aggressive. Like wtf this got to do with the game? (I know it’s NBA TV but it’s still Chuck)
