cuz he was a CAC lover

This is a really weird thread. Being Black is more than fukking pawgs and making whites mad. Ya nikkas are lost. Lol
Diamond in his front tooth....If only we had some real modern era sports coverage. His smilies would've been golden
Ali made his mark disrespecting Black men like white slave masters and racists did. Meanwhile Jack made his mark beating up white cootie cat and white men for a living. Total opposites. Ali converting to Islam saved him from being a total buffoon in my eyes.
negro shut the fukk up....This is a really weird thread. Being Black is more than fukking pawgs and making whites mad. Ya nikkas are lost. Lol
lank pleaseWhen they had that old black and white footage of him fighting those white dudes and he's laughing and talking with the people at ringside, laughing at the dude he was fighting....
When he knocked out that great white hope and all the white people at ringside werebut that one brotha in the middle who was like

lank please
tv era, breh
JJ was 100 yrs ago and there was no tv
Ali was an insanely charismatic personality, a global one at that. He was in a position to inspire far more people than Jack Johnson. That in itself doesn't diminish what Jack Johnson achieved.
Ali was born 4 years after Johnson died. Ali became a figure at the dawn of popular culture. Don't really get what's hard to understand about that.
imagine jack johnson in the twitter era![]()
why do Ali and Jack Johnson have to be pitted against each other?
Wasn't no money in fighting other black fighters when he started to bubble......Its prize fighting gentleman....
Besides....Langford was too little.......Harry Wills seemed like a beast from the old footage I've seen......Never seen the other 2
Word on the street is that Johnson and Langford did fight....and Langford pretty much got that work...Not sure if its true tho
by being on tv, ali was involved in other pop cultural shows that made him relevant to non-boxing fans. when you say the greatest, even non-boxers will think ali because they have been exposed to him directly or indirectly when mentioned or referenced on some kind of tv show.they had their own means of watching the fights back then. and theres access to old fights of his, the same way theres access to fights by ali and everybody else.
jack johnson was one of the most important people in the country, and a top 3 - arguably #1 black figure of the times.
everybody knew all about jack johnson back then.
jack johnson was global as well.
otherwise, he wouldnt have even got a title shot.

a pre-tv athlete is probably going to be best understood by fans of the sport. neutral observers wont know what to think one way or the other because even casually knowing a pre-tv athlete requires more effort and interest than a non-fan would have, naturally. he was probably just a famous, troublesome negro to non boxing fans in his day with no understanding of how knowledgeable boxing fans viewed his talent.
another thing, tv did a great job of selling his opponents as important characters themselves. frazier as the non-flashy negro that whites could root for, foreman as the mean giant, etc. nobody today cares about the cacs johnson fought because they are not packaged for consumption on tv.
im talking about today, why ali is still relevant and johnson is not today. it is due to tv. i am not talking about how important they were in the past, breh.alot of yall seem to have the misconception that boxing was some grungy niche sport that took place in dimly-lit bars.
practically everybody was a boxing fan in those days it seems.
do yall realize that the fate of the country & peoples' lives literally rested on the outcomes of jack johnson fights? it was far from some niche sport where you had to be a fan to know what was going on.
ali aint have chit on johnson breh. lets not get too caught up in technology.
