Why don’t people talk about how expensive it is to play sports besides basketball and football?

Soccer really that expensive nowadays? I played travel growing up in jersey up until 10 grade. Jersey was always good with players and I don’t remember our traveling league being expensive? It changed that much? I’m an 80’s baby 90’s kid.

Bruh there are public pools everywhere and they were like $1 back in the day. On super hot days, they were free. Rec centers had pools. Even some blk schools I grew up with had pools. If you live in Cali, Chicago, Florida, nyc you can just go to the beach…or a lake. Stop the cap bro.

I see blk kids skate boarding all the time in Chicago…they don’t look rich to me… but I saw a guy skateboarding thru Englewood (the hood)

Highschools got weight rooms

Y’all gotta stop with these prices… look at all these kids with Jordans and iPhones… they ain’t got a few dollars to try a different sport?
You realize you have to start practicing these sports at a very young age. A 10 year old kid isn’t buying iPhones or Jordans. Stop the economic dog whistle.

Everything you named are public facilities.

My high school was closed on the weekends. So you ain’t touching those weights unless a teacher took the time to open in on their weekends.

Almost all kids need supervision/coaching starting out so unless your school/community already has the personnel I wouldn’t recommend watching YouTube to learn about deadlifting.

It’s weird hearing about soccer and baseball being expensive when majority of its pro’s come from poor 3rd world countries

Why would the extra person work that class without 3 or 4 other classes stacked with it? Would the revenue even cover the cost to pay the instructor?

I did this type of shyt for a living. Senior citizens in the morning kids early afternoon and adults later afternoon/evening. But if I was paying 1 instructor to come in for 1 hour...it just simply wouldnt happen. Plus people have lives
So the paywalls and early afternoon time schedules for classes that are for kids are justified? There are 7 days in the week. Serve more of the community then the rich kids :camby:

Some stuff is regionally strong because there were decades of kids playing so the infrastructure is already in place.

In Mississippi, Brett Favre is in trouble in part because there were no places for his daughter to play volleyball in high school and college so he stole money to get it built.

$3000 membership fee for a average ranked AAU team. That's a full year's tuition at some of these European soccer academies. :mjlol:

You are a moron if you think soccer is expensive. You literally take a ball, go to a field, and play. You don't even need shoes on a grass field.

Organized soccer costs money but that's the same for any sport.

For years people said soccer is the cheapest sport to do hence why most of the world plays it.
I need to see the receipts, all you need is a ball and some sneakers, not necessarily cleats
