Why don't politicians get assassinated anymore?

There was supposedly an attempt on Clinton's life in the 90's and secret service picked up on it ahead of time while they were in the Presidential limo/vans.

Someone broke in the white house in like 2011 and walked the main floor freely and I believe he had a knife. The Obama family wasn't there but if they were, I'm sure he would have tried to kill Barack or Michelle.

People break into the White House all the time
They even fly drones into the grass and shyt and hop the fence and it usually takes like 20 mins for agents to even respond

Some of y'all have brought up the fact that today, assassinations are more covert/subtle but I think OP was more so talking about the Kennedy-style "lone wolf" assassinations of yesteryear. I mean, it seems pretty obvious that this kind of thing still happens (Antonin Scalia for example) but with all the psychos running free these days it kind of IS surprising that there aren't even attempts being made.

Believe it or not, society is becoming less and less violent as time goes on

We still have a loooong way to go but things aren't as crazy as they used to be (regardless of what u read/hear on the news)

What we currently live in now is pretty much humanity's teenager phase, we're still greedy capitalist, still obsessed with superstition/religion, still brainwashed by nationalism and tribalism

But we're slowly drifting away from it, Now what is the end goal? ....Think Star Trek The Next Generations. That's when we'll reach adult status as a species.

This is how I think of it. It's almost like you're reading my mind.

Although I would say we are more towards the younger teenage years. And in someways humanity is still in it's infancy.
