Why don't we give Russell Wilson the same level of appreciation we give Cam?

But where are the black preps at? Preppy white people have a collective so they don't have to try to rely on keeping it real for the trailer park. I swear brothas monolith themselves at times. Black people having a different swag or different opinion ends up being about race!...it's really annoying.

Every other race can be of any political affiliation, assort themselves with pure preps, might prefer music outside of their race. But they never lose their racial identity on a large scale in terms of being a sell out.

preps are pretty damn class conscious, if you ain't have money they don't want you too badly in their circle, I went to school with them it's a whole subculture designed around old white money (with some new money thrown in too)

This for the most part. I like both players, but it's pretty clear that a fair amount of the people on the Coli (you know, the "militant/'Cac gone Cac '" types) gravitate to the dude who puts White America all up in their feelings. Not because he's street or whatever, because Cam hasn't done anything to suggest that. Cam is Black America's quarterback. Russell Wilson just so happens to be black, but as said earlier, doesn't appear to have that edge/desire to style on people.

It's a reflection of the culture. We gravitate to the flashier people.

A lot of the posts rephrase it to:

"I like Cam better than Russ because he's closer to a stereotype of a black person. Thus, when Cam succeeds, he makes white people madder than Russ does when Russ succeeds."

But the fundamental point is still the same. Cam > Russ because Cam is closer to the stereotype.
