I imagine people liked Larry Bird better because he was the better of the two basketball players. Larry played a more exciting style of basketball and played a position that usually brings more excitement to the game.

Just cause you look like someone ya automatically friends? Commonality is based on way more than that.

And at these private school most of the black kids are from the hood on scholarships and there are few middle class blacks that pay out of pocket like the white kids. So in that sense you still the out of place suburban black guy.

It's not just the Coli... My uncles and aunts and mom and such typically support black quarterbacks (Vick, McNabb, Cam), but they don't stan for Wilson like that, right or wrong. Russell does him, just like Cam or anyone else does, but his style doesn't seem to pull in black supporters to the same degree.

That's like saying black people like Clarence Thomas because he's the only black on the Supreme Court.

This notion that Black people only like so-called "Street" people is very ignorant and narrow minded.

Many black people could identify with McNair because he was a country boy from the South. And represented a black college fraternity.

McNair represented HBCU's which had nothing to do with streets.

You misunderstand me fam, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with McNair or Moon not being street, all I'm saying is that they were the only black qb's of note around back then. They did take pride in being black so it didn't matter if they were street or not, they were black and succeeding at a predominently white position. I agree with you saying that only liking street is narrow minded
