I know this doesn't apply to all women...and particularly applies to a certain group of woman.

I'm an atheist, but I don't bring up religion in my dealings with women, so it's never really been an issue for me

But I have noticed online, in the media, and in real life that a lot of women are turned off by atheism.

Why? And don't come in with the stereotype about atheists being militant or wanting to force their "beliefs" on others or being obnoxious. That has nothing to do with the lack of belief in God.

My interest lies in answering what's so repulsive about the idea of atheism to women.

:sas1:

OP do you feel that youve gotten some answers here in your thread?

she understands that a heathen lives for his own pleasure

Which is using logic and common sense? Damn right I do.

Difference is I won't threaten someone to eternal doom if they don't.
Logic and common sense doesnt direct you to reject a belief.

It would direct you to stay neutral.

Obviously its a social norm and those not within the confines of the group are looked at as basically being unhealthy or spiritually corrupted I guess :manny:

1. Josephus' Antiquities (early 2nd century A.D.) refers to Jesus in two separate passages.

2. Tacitus (c. A.D. 55 - c. A.D. 117) mentioned Him in his Annals book.

3. Suetonius (c. A.D. 69 - c. A.D. 140)
Mentions Him in his writings.

4. Pliny the Younger (c. 62 - c. 113) also mentions Him.

5. You also have the Gospels, Foxes Book of Martyrs among other things.

Josephus' passages mentioning Jesus have been widely disputed as being forged by Christian scribes. Tacitus writes about Christians (as a cult btw lol) NOT Christ himself. Doing some further googling you can find many arguments against the validity for 3 and 4 as well.

lol @ the gospels being a source of truth.

Most atheist are a$$holes, they constantly have to bring up religion just to shyt on it. They tend to be more aggressive in trying to convert people to their beliefs than actual religious people. Nobody want to hear that shyt all the time, just like nobody wants to hear a religious person shoving their beliefs down your throat.

Athiest here. Never had any problems. When it comes up (usually moments after I refuse to go to church with them) we discuss it briefly and then keep it moving. By that point they already know that I'm a good person, probably better than most Christians they know. So its a non-issue...

Now their friends and family, that's where I get the most resistance...

I base my beliefs off of my personal experiences. My time in the presence of God let me know I don't have the wisdom or love to judge to dictate anybody else's life.

It was an overwhelming personal experience of love and comfort from a very non-judgmental presence that put me in awe. Because of that I personally have faith :ohlawd: but I get that people have questions :ld: like legit doubts.

The spiritual path is a neverending one so I let folks ride.

But when it comes to my p*ssy:ufdup: if we not energetically the same on a base level as in awareNess of of our place in the universe - why imma fukk you and recreate the God mind in creation/procreation with you?

I can deal with a fukk up who acknowledges God. GOD DON'T EXPECT PERFECTION:to: neither do I. But atheist nikkas like......:why: the fukk is you? A level of arrogance and dissociation I can't fukk with

you totally did not answer his question...

and "arrogance" is the assumption that you have a conclusive answer to the origins of the universe and life, I.E. religion.

Science simply is "We are okay with not knowing things, and we will be on an unending search to figure this out." Hypothesis' merely become theories, and theories are willingly discarded if other contradicting or conclusive data comes about. That in a sense...is actually more humble than the conclusion of a deity.

depends what demographic.

black women are the most religious demographic in the USA.

However, most women seem to buy into a lot of fairy-tale bullshyt and religion is no different.

Because women are emotional, and religion has an emotional derivative and...purpose.

Iv been in Three serious relationships, and all three of the woman where "Super christians". Every single one of them tried their hardest to convert me, and would pray for me, and try to push that shyt on me. I really do wish I could find a black woman that I actually like that isn't delusional.

Funny thing about every single one of those women

1: Gave me the p*ssy quick,
2: Even after we broke up, and they moved on to other relationships. Cheated on those relationships with me.
3: Had no problem spending the money I was making/ enjoying the lifestyle I was living (around those times I played the streets heavy)
4: All had aborts.

This is one of the reasons why I use Bart Erhman as a source. As probably the biggest skeptic in academia he acknowledges the Gospels as a source.

Not accepting the Gospels would be on the same level as proving you exist without using your birth certificate as evidence.
