This thread has derailed due to idiocy, as expected.

1. Atheists don't claim to have all the answers or know the "truth", only religious practitioners do.

2. Nobody worships scientific theory, but it is based off of empirical evidence as oppose to religion which is quite literally having faith that people received testimony from God you haven't and that you should believe them.

3. Atheists try to avoid the suspension of reason and logic and can admit when they are wrong. Oddly enough, religious practitioners can be highly logical and rational when critiquing OTHER religions.

4. Atheists understand that society changes, morals are transient, and nothing is concrete. Religion codifies the human experience and then constantly backpedals to conform to newly acquired knowledge and societal change. Look at evolution as a theory, the acceptance of gays within churches, even the 1000s of christian denominations that all believe entirely different things.

It is crazy that the major religions of today including Islam were forced upon Africans and yet we embrace them more than any other group.

Hmm. It's funny how there's this presumption in your statement that if you don't believe in some magical deity that means you don't believe in anything higher than yourself. There's a lot of stuff higher than myself. I think that speaks more to your own inflated sense of self-worth that you operate under the assumption that "God" is the only thing higher than yourself.

Also one doesn't have to worship science to be an atheist. Maybe they just recognize the facts gleaned through science. Using the word worship seems like projection. You worship God, so you assume that someone who doesn't believe in God has to worship something else, and that isn't the case.

Those are theories no one claims they are 100% fact.

I think as long as you recognize that there's something present that is more powerful than you as a being and you are a good honest person then I don't have a problem. As long as you don't try to force what you believe on me then.....
I think that the word "atheist " is scary to some people like, if you don't worship the most high then you must worship evil. Even though that's not always true.

I have nothing against atheists. I don't judge or make assumptions about anyone. As a believer of God I would rather my spouse believe in God as well.

I find it funny when people act like Atheists are always militant. How many atheists make their political party look like a joke? How many atheists proudly proclaim they would never marry somebody that believes in God? How many atheists get mad that you go to church? The rage always comes from the other side.
