Don't plan to carry one in public. Feel it will complicate life way more than it will be needed. Getting caught with one on you legal or not can cause you to get shot by police or somebody else. As soon as somebody finds out you have one on you or in the car it changes the dynamics. Pulling it out means you have to be ready to shoot and kill somebody whether warranted or not. Or deal with charges related to just brandishing it in a threatening manner. Keep one at home where everything is fair game and less complicated.

Been had my cc license and been meaning to get one but never got around to it and felt it was absolutely necessary since I haven't been in a situation that has required one yet. I would like to get one hopefully soon, granted it's been a lot of craziness out there and lots of places sold out these days. Hopefully I can get something for the house.

I don't carry one because I'm more likely to get shot by a cop for having it, then I am to actually need it
This. I would like to carry it on me more but definitely trigger happy coppers out here.

Because bytch ass Cali makes it hard to even legally own reasonable guns, and you have ab better chance of winning the lottery than getting a CC permit. I’ve wanted a Gen 5 Glock 17, but anything past Gen 3 is illegal in Cali...that’s like only being able to buy the iPhone 5 when the fukking 12 is about to drop :dead:

Getting caught with one on you legal or not can cause you to get shot by police or somebody else.

As soon as somebody finds out you have one on you or in the car it changes the dynamics.

Pulling it out means you have to be ready to shoot and kill somebody whether warranted or not.

Or deal with charges related to just brandishing it in a threatening manner.

Every thing you said here is false.

There is no "getting caught".

1. if you live in an open carry city, you can open carry. :yeshrug:

2. If a cop asks you do you have a gun, saying yes will not get you shot in any city in America especially while black. If the cops ask you if you have a gun and you immediately pull it out and hold it up, yeah your probably going to get shot, whether black or white. If a cop asks you if you have a gun, and you do, you answer yes. You tell him that your licensed to carry. You willingly provide him your ccw. If they ask where the gun is, you tell them. At no point do you grab the gun, brandish the gun, or physically make contact with it without their instruction. Yeah, I know, it's our right to, but we are sitting in a car and they are standing outside the car. They have a physical and tactical advantage. We are dead to rights. If you think you can shoot your way out of the situation because it's not illegal to hold a firearm in your hand while in the presence of a police officer, go ahead. That's on you.

3. The dynamics do change. And they should bd changed and the change should be for the better.
We should have the conflict resolution skills to prevent physical altercations, and de-escalate verbal alterations. When you have a gun on you, that means the fight is always serious. Level 10 serious. You could get knocked out and your pockets ran, guess what, now he has your gun. You can get wrestled or pushed to the ground and your gun comes out, guess what, now he has your gun. Being deadly armed is a reason to be like :hubie:. Someone bumps in to you accidently :hubie:, you accidently hit someone's cart with your cart :hubie:. You apologize on your behalf and walk away. Or apologize on their behalf and walk away. Or just walk away. They want to talk shyt, well this is America, freedom of speech. If they want to chase you around, and move from a verbal altercation to a physical, this is where their life is in danger because of what you are capable of. Someone wants to push you around, swing on you, or brandish a weapon. Keep your distance. There is no legal requirement in any state saying you have to warn or alert them. If you want to tell them "I'm armed!" Or "I have a ccw!" "Stay back or I'll shoot!" That's on you. Or you can continue to de-escalate by maintaining distance. If that guy wants to chase you down, rush you with an intent to cause you physical harm, that is defined as imminent threat. You can shoot him in any state in the us (where ccw is reciprocal). You are licensed to do so and you are justified to do so. You dont have to get punched ir stabbed or shot at, you can take measures on your own to maintain your safety.

4. You should never brandish it. If you don't have a reason to pull it out, keep it concealed. If you live in an open carry city you don't have to brandish it, everyone can see it. Pull it out when it's time to do something.

5. Not everyone can kill someone, even if it means saving their own or someone they loves life. If at the moment you feel threatened the willingness to live is outweighed by the acceptance of possible death, then don't shoot, don't even pull it out if you haven't. It's the same way whether you have to shoot someone, punch someone, stab someone. If your not willing to go all in, then don't go all in. Either de-escalate, fully retreat or be a victim.

You don't want to be in a situation that requires one. Those suck. Get one first and hope one of those situations never arise (I.e some burglar climbing through your window, some jackass attacking you or others in public).

A compilation of too many news stories solidified my decision and continues to reinforce it. I see too many people taken advantage of and either physically harmed or killed and I'm like "nope. Won't happen to me."
