The reality for NBA coaches is this:
A team will be hesitant to give her a deal if they feel they gotta play things differently than the other 29 teams if shyt don’t pan out…. And it’s a 95% chance shyt ain’t gonna pan out past 3 years.
It’s fukked up and not her fault. At the same time it’ll be leverage that she’ll have if she eventually gets a gig.

I'm a coach and coach plenty of females as well as males
I know plenty of female coaches that also coach both genders.
It's a new age
With that said, just because she is credible and experienced doesnt make her the best candidate. Plenty of coaches are capable that wouldnt have the uphill battle that she would have.
This isn't the first time this has been a thing. Nancy Lieberman Klein (sp?) was into coaching and made it a discussion before Becky

It's a pr nightmare for any team that hires the first coach. Will the players listen to her? Will there be sexual harassment? Will she be fired more quickly because she's woman if things go bad?

and something everyone about head coaches: they're hired to be fired. If you're in rare air, you get to decide when you walk away. If you're lucky, you get fired, but they tell you it's a mutual parting. Most times, you get the boot.
Either Becky or Cheryl Reeve (Lynx coach) will get that call. I think upon hiring Becky, her associate HC gotta be critical.
