1) Men have always had the physical advantage in hunter gatherer societies, which bares little to no meaning in modern societies. Some studies even correlate higher testosterone to lower IQ. 2) Birth control wasn't available, which is most likely the reason sex was a taboo in the first place. Women being the only bearers of children were obviously deemed more responsible for births out of wedlock.
Thankfully society is changing and I can only expect women to prosper.

... and to be honest i'm very surprised to see a woman post that. 
There are plenty of places my sister won't go, or things she wont do, and situations she will avoid simple due to fact that she is a woman and not a man. And you can argue its societal but most of it stems from the fact that a man is physically advantageous to a woman. And this isn't me telling her that, this is her letting us (her brothers) know that unless one of us comes with her, she wont do it.
I'll put it this way, my sister or my girl could not live alone where I live. Just because its 2016, doesn't mean that our base natures as human beings have changed all that much.

You need to understand that what's been happening over the last century is contrary to the history of how the sexes dealt with each other. This isn't homegrown, these things have been promoted and and protected by the Government and Media.. What happens when those protective sources fall away or become unable to protect their populations at large? I don't think most women are really ready for the gut check that's gonna come from a lot of men who have felt marginalized and are angry due to government interference and will be emboldened by being enriched with some power. I fear most will project it in possibly brutal and destructive ways.
ThisThere wasn't always a male-dominated face on the global scene, as women have held positions of esteem throughout history.
On the other hand, its innate that a lot of men choose to dominate women simply because we can in most instances.

Now imagine you have political power and other men think you are more of a man for dominating women. Women were liken to property in so many

The problem will become women who don't have the ability to protect themselves.. Those who don't have some type of male protector or having a defensive weapon (I forced my sister to get a concealed weapons permit since she lives alone), will have issues if shyt goes to the left.
Sadly it makes sense when you analyze even which type of men are nerdy or borderline genuises: scrawny, practically asexual and, you know... non impulsive by nature. Explains why Asians have the highest IQs as well, but don't shoot the messenger.

Men have not tried to control female sexuality in every civilization since history has been recorded.

But Men tend to have higher IQs than women.
and It's a fact that women have smaller brains with less of a separation between the right and left hemisphere.
Well of course men have higher IQ's and created almost everything to date, but I suspect that's merely because of the physical advantage that consequently allowed them to create a monopoly in intellectual fields as well. Nowadays women are statistically doing better than men in school, and while that it may not directly correlate to IQ, it's an indicative that tostesterone does in fact lower one's ability to concentrate.

How come you disagree that physical strength means virtually nothing in a career driven society where even social skills are likelier than get you forward?
Yeah, it's no secret that men are on avarege stronger than women. And yes, women are raised to look for protection in other men, most likely because of that.
I wouldn't say primal survival skills are even relevant nowadays, unless you live in a Middle Eastern warzone.
For starters, men and women never liked each other. Marriage as a product of love is a fairly new concept. While that might be besides the point, it sheds some light on an ugly past that most conservatives naively idealize.
What are protective men guarding societies from? How are men being marginalized by women?
